A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Barn bikes

Tomorrow morning headed out to a guy I talked to the other day that has over 90 motorcycles in a barn on his farm. Been collecting a bunch of non runners in the area for the last 40 years. When I asked about GSs he said lots of em,asked about GTs he sez many. Plus a lot of Yamkawonda. Should be interesting.

The wife is going to kill you if you come home with 90 bikes. LOL

Scheduling conflict, going Sunday morning will be 80s and clear, Saturday morning looking to pick up a 1982 Yamaha Seca 750.Had one new really liked it,this will be a mostly cosmetic resto. Mechanically sound thinking about painting it 74Suzuki750GT bright blue metallic or 71 Duster plum crazy purple.Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that color doesn't matter.

Saturday picked up the Seca,19,000 miles will get minor mechanical and full cosmetic restoration,Sunday what a joke.Guy had maybe 30 mostly junk 70s jap dirt bikes one GS 550 L a GT185 and 250 both not saveable, some XS 650 parts bikes, wasted trip completely.60F64AF7-6EDF-4A30-999F-B7E75BBEA9D6.jpg

Sounds like a barn would have been an improvement. "Yard bikes" or "leaning against my Mom's shed for 30 years" bikes are rarely worth the attempt.

He had one anomaly I guess you?d say,the 80s GS 550,tag on the frame sez E but it has the shorter fenders, stepped seat, shorter mufflers of the L,he got it that way sez never modified.

Liked my 82 XJ750 SECA project

Liked my 82 XJ750 SECA project

Can't believe it's been 9 years already. This bike had the best sounding exhaust snarl I've ever heard.
