A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi

I bought a RR on Ebay, seemed OK but had only one picture. I got this one with no markings on it. It seems like a generic piece, is it fake? Will it work? Is it a shunt RR?

Looks like the two connectors are black?

Sorry, wrong unit. Should have one black and one gray and would definitely have markings.

Ok, thanks :) Will make sure I get the right one next time :)

Looks identical to the generic one I got. Can you return it?
Electrical stuff is usually not returnable, but complain and you might get some satisfaction. As mentioned, look for shindengen markings to ensure you get the real deal.

I was wondering how long it was going to take you to reply to that, looks like 1 hour 14 minutes. Some may be wondering why you didn't chime in on this thread earlier but I get it.

For some reason having DB Electrical say it was not a real SH-775 was not good enough and some people had to test it for themselves (nothing better to do I guess, or perhaps trying to save $1) to make absolutely sure it was not a Series R/R. I waited for the results; new things are coming out all the time so you never know except about stuff that is known.

"......I though I would post a new discovery I made.........I should keep my electrical connections clean........"

If that is what it takes to get he word out so be it. It has been documented more now and hopefully other people will read and be wiser for it.

If those which I ordered are genuine (I also posted regarding this on the DB electrical thread), then genuine ones should have a shiny plain metal back, no color, no coating.

I'm sorry I did not take your word from gospel and bow to your knowledge. I do realize you know what you are talking about but there are times when you talk so far above most people that it is hard to follow your threads.

I bought it literally the day before any comments about their legitimacy came out - this is the biggest reason Steve and I chose to test it once it arrived and before Charmayne re-started her attempt to learn how to ride her bike. I now know the issue and I'm willing to make myself look like the fool in order to prevent others from making the mistake.
