    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anyone know what thread it is on the 80 (square type not round) front master cylinder?

I want to go Stainless but will run two lines direct instead of splitting them like the factory spec & will need a longer bolt.

Are the threads on the calipers (square pad type) the same too?

I think they should be 10mm x 1mm or 10mm x 1.25mm.

I could measure it but I don't really want to take it off & have to bleed it to use it till the new bits are available.....

I think I read somewhere that you can reuse the longer banjo bolt from the stock splitter. Can't help you on the caliper bolts though. I'll be watching this thread because I'm interested in doing the same thing. Where are you ordering the lines from?
 
All the banjo bolts have the same thread as far as I'm aware - I've just done a mix and match out of a 1000S, 550E, GS750 and GSX750es. (Picked the shiniest from each as I'm too tight to buy stainless).

Very easy to measure the pitch. Just get a ruler and measure the distance taken for 5 or 10 threads, divide this by the number of threads and hey presto you have your pitch. I had a mix on my GS400 of 1.25 and 1.00 pitch threads.
 
They're 10mm X 1mm threads, but you don't need to buy a new double banjo bolt -- you already have one on the "splitter" bolted to the bottom triple clamp. You're not going to need the splitter anyway.

Whatever you do, don't buy a crappy generic replacement banjo bolt. If you just want a shiny new one, buy an OEM Suzuki.

The generic aftermarket banjo bolt the local shoppe tried to sell me is an obvious piece of low-quality crap.

Spiegler probably sells really nice banjo bolts, though.

Looks good but I have different bars so different lengths needed. Will get the kit from Earls or maybe the Goodridge stuff from Z1 I think. Both are a little cheaper than that one.

You live in Redondo, right? Just take off your front brake lines and bring the whole mess to the Earl's store on Hawthorne and Manhattan Beach Blvd. They'll make them up for you for cheaper than most wholesale.
 
Dan i just got my Goodridge stuff from Z1 Super quality. I would recommend the price.

Don't give up that easy Dan. You just need to get about 6 feet of -3 line, two regular (non adjustable) banjos, and two adjustable banjos. For the non adjustable banjos, consider getting the type that bend forward like the stock banjo.

Building the lines will only take about 20 minuets - I'll be glad to help. The Earl's shop has everything you need for a fair price.

Don't forget new metal seals. We use aluminum in Mercedes land for all our banjo bolt reseals. Softer than copper, ergo, easier and more positive sealing. If you can't find them anywhere else, call a Benz parts departmernt and ask for part number 007603-010100. But i'm thinking 10 mm is awfully small....i thought the ones i took off the junk 850 from the junk run were 14mm. In that case, the part number would be 007603-014104.
