A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I love the Zero.
As clean lined of a cafe as one could hope for.
Are those grips the 714s?

The best picture is in my sig, but here is another one. I'll take more when I have finished painting my new tank.

At some point, I want to redo the electrics to streamline things further.

You guys have some really beautiful bikes, mine is cafe'd somewhat but it can't compete the works of art you guys have.

My 550

My 550

Here's my '78 550. I swapped out the rearsets and clip-ons to make it easier for my daughter to ride. Renthal bars are really nice, and absorb a lot of vibes.

Hey Octain, I just noticed the rear wheel on your cafe. If I'm not mistaken it looks like its from the later 83+ 750's and 1100E's right? How'd you modify it to work with the shaft drive?

It looks good, and weighs less too I'd bet. I like it. I may steal that idea for my 650gl project build. More information please, any pictures from the shaft side?

I believe Octain got that rear wheel from gs650m katana shaft drive.

Not sure about the rear wheel. Was on the bike when I got it. Folks here say it's from a later shaft drive Kat 600. I couldnt tell ya. Honestly I didnt even notice it till someone pointed it out to me. Dont know what kinda mods were done, if any. Just recently swapped the rear drive for one from a member here and didnt notice anything unusual.

Here is the bike as it sits today. All the BS safty crap has been removed. Sigs, lights(and brakelight) and backlight in the speedo housing is all it has.
It sure is a fun little b1tch.

Yup. Also has the license plate mount. Got it on Ebay, a cheapie. 25 bux IIRC.
I have non LEDS on the front and didnt have to do any mods to the wiring. They have a one or two second hesitation when ya hit the switch but other than that it's all good. Just have to remember to hit the button a bit sooner.

'03 CBR954RR. It's not the easiest swap to do, you just have to get a new adapter bearing for the top triple.

That's assuming your triples are all ****ed by PO's like mine were...

Well this is still a work in progress and not strictly a cafe, but it's in the ballpark. It's an '82 GS1100G!
