Carb fuel link pipe question - help needed

Hi all, just putting my carbs back together, VM29's I believe on a 1978 GS550.
Question is, there are link pipes between the carbs for fuel, the one in the middle has a 'T' piece that connects to the tank, they look like they have moulded O Rings on them, the outer pipes seem to seal ok, but the middle 'T' pipe is as sloppy as a sloppy thing, even with these moulded on O-rings, I can't really see why these would wear, but surely they need proper O-rings???

Anyone know what type as a regular one will not fit in the carb, if you see what I mean. Or is it just a case of getting a new one?

There are numbers stamped in the carb body, they are hard to see, you could google them and cross reference. For VM carbs, I think you can also measure the carb's engine-side opening, I think the measurement (in mm) is supposed to roughly correspond, i.e., if you measure and it's 22mm, you got VM22.

soak the T piece in boiling water for a while, then once dried, soak it in petrol for a while. this will revitalize and swell up the rubbers. see how well it fits after that.

No idea on replacement, you can wrap the tee with normal teflon plumbing tape to build it up. I suppose if the tee is too sloppy, this won't work. Worked for me. (Let the flaming begin)

Nah, the flaming will occur when they start to leak as you are riding down the road.
Just kidding, no experience in this area.
