A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Can I JB weld this?

No. Should be able to pick one up for just a few $$ from some one here, or Flee bay

Sure, you can JB Weld it, but you have to be asking yourself:

"WHEN this breaks (not if it breaks), how much damage will happen? :-k

.

yeah I did end up JB welding it. We will see how good it is. If I can get one for cheep I will do that.

Are you feeling LUCKY? :-k

I would not even turn the engine over by hand, let alone run it with that repaired guide in there.

After I broke that easily not really. I think I will replace it.

You probably won't even get it bolted down without the JB Weld failing.

Okay here is what I discovered that guide is like a case saver for the valve cover. It just JB welded the entire thing down. Its got enough surface area I think it will be fine. I will put the screws in it as well. And yes I did prep it before I used the JB weld on it.

Noooo! No way would I trust that! If it comes loose, that will get caught on your cam chain and get flung forwards into the front of the case cover.

It may smash into pieces and do little damage, or it could seize your cam chain and therefore your motor at full noise...

That's just my opinion of course, but sounds very risky to me when there are much safer options that are inexpensive...

For the love of god and your bikes engine....dont put that back in the engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let alone all the little chunks of JB being thrown around in there...OH i can hear that engine shreiking from here!!!!!

Guys it fine. It's prob stronger than the original one. And it doesn't get very hot. It's got both the epoxy and and screws holding it in. I even pulled out the screws and tried move it an it's in there solid. It's not coming out easly. That's fine if it needs to be replaced you just need a new valve cover no big deal.

I can't believe what I just read, I have as much faith in that as I would in gluing a broken connecting rod together. There's lots of ways to cut corners, or cheat, but that isn't one of them. The risk/reward ratio is not favorable. Good Luck!

He could not have committed a dead component like that.
It was crap and due for heaving.

IIRC, some of the factory Suzuki ones are glued to the cam shaft cover.
I'll try to post some pic's tomorrow.
