If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Mrs. Steve and I were on our way to Mr. FoxyBLankworthy's wedding this afternoon.

Oh, .... somehow I thought thier wedding was months ago.
I Was going to ask him about it, but did not think of it anytime when I could have asked him ( a social skill I need to work on.)

Good to see GSR represented.
Maybe we could have gone-in-together and got him some gasket sealer har har har

As I was trying to get my bike ready for my first rally, I drove 20 miles to an auto parts store I found online which happened to have the right size oil drain plug. I told the guy at the counter why I was there and how it was out of my way, and he asks what kind of bike I have. I told him an '82 Suzuki 1100, and he just stares blankly w/o saying anything. I ask what's up, and he says "that's what I ride!" It turns out he bought one GS new back in the early '80s, and picked up an 1100L somewhere along the way. He hadn't heard about the forums so I gave him the link and my email address. Nice guy, it was nice talking to him, and the whole thing sort of gave me confirmation that the rally was a good idea and would be fun.

Unfortunately he's got a couple of jobs and not much time, but hopefully he'll get that L back on the road and hopefully join the forum.

This is a great community, for sure.

I was headed to Willard, OH to watch their fireworks show and a cookout. Driving through Plymouth I spotted this in a parking lot so I turned around to go back and look. The owner came out of the store and busted me taking this picture. So we sat there and chatted about his bike.
He told me that he painted it and had to lower the shocks 1 inch due to being a little on the short side. Bought it 5 years ago and would like a bigger one but very happy with this one. He said it's an '81 450.

I was going to just ride thru all this craziness, just to see the spectical of it all (since it is less than 20 miles away), but saw the nice 550L, so did find a place to park, and walked back to get a picture.

That GS was easy to spot, since it was parked sticking out into the lane of traffic.
I did not recognize it from any GSR members in the area that I know. I didnt have any GS cards to leave.
I did not hang around to see if some grizzly yah-hoo might knock it over, or if crowd control would move it.

So, Hey, Mr GS550L, anybody here....?

Where did you get your rear rack and backrest? I have an 82 GS650G and I am looking for a rack and back rest combo so my wife will ride with me.

Ah.... you asking me...?

I posted picture of a bike I happened to find (the main point of this thread) ... not my bike, have not even met the owner, so, ah, I cant say.

Wait... there is no back rest in the pics.... you a real person....? (maybe the bots have some new tricks).

Rack looks like a KG brand rack. They made lots of universal racks about that time. I have one I found on eBay. If you search KG in motorcycle parts you will probably find one. Some of them have back rests, but I don't see one on the bike in the picture either. I have seen them here in the classifieds also.

Popped out to pick up some new headphones as I am now sharing an office, and couldn't find the free motorcycle parking that used to be near the store so ended up parking a few blocks away. I saw a red GS400E ('83 I think) with a 4 into 1 header parked on the same block. Didn't see the owner, and it was gone when I got back.

There are a few 400/450 models of that age around, but this one didn't look familiar to me

(I really need to pick up a cell phone just for the camera)

850L Grand Haven Michigan

850L Grand Haven Michigan

THis afternoon, about 430, north bound US31 headed toward Grand HAven.

Took me about 4 miles to catch up to you, and did only because stopped at this light (Ferris).
But could not get up next to you to get your attention, so I was just sneaky and took a picture.

(NOte to self, hold camera phone closer to window so doesnt focus on window.)

THen a little later you turned west (Rosey Mound), and I was about to turn east (Comstock), but almost diverted to followed you, but then thought I would have to say "...no, not stalking you, just showing interest...."

Nice 850, had some of the L modified out of it. Modified exhaust but not at all loud.
82 I suspect.

Dave

(Other note to self: I need to get more GSR cards printed.)

Just followed a rider on a clean 77 GS750 to the Walgreens at A1A and Palm Valley Rd. Slightly modified but nice. Says he knows of GSR.

Ran across a GS750L with red lettering on the seat, pods and a blued Vance and Hines 4 to 1 at Iron Pony today but didn't see the rider.

Met a guy today with a 79 850G. Pretty nice with 20K on it. Not a spot of oil or mist on the fins. Needed some assistance on small problems and didn't know about GSR. He does now.

Whoa stalker

I came acrossed a very well broken in 450 L today. This bike looks really rough but I'm happy for it as it obviously gets ridden A LOT! I didn't see the owner and when I came out of the store the bike was gone.

It even had a kicking sound system!

I've forgotten about this thread...thanks for posting these sightings!
