Okay,
First off, I have a 1980 GS850GL
I took apart my carbs and cleaned them, replaced all of the rubber joints, seals, and bowl gaskets and now it will not start with the throttle closed. If I open the butterflies to about 1/2 way then it fires right up and idles right. I adjusted the mix screws (all about 2 turns out), I did the whole process, turn in until the engine stumbles, out until the engine bogs, right in between's right. I synched the carbs, #'s 1&4 are about an 1/2 inch of mercury higher than 2&3, all right in the ballpark of 16 inches. What am I missing?
