A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Watched this interesting new video this morning, from Europe the EICMA Bike Show?
Looks like overweight & overpowered adventure bikes are trending.

Cycle World: EICMA Motorcycle Show 2019

Looked around for some more info, all that's out there is it's a brand new 145hp 60? water cooled vtwin. Let's face it, HD is at least 40 years too late in trying to remake it's brand. It's the Buick of the motorcycle world, your grandpa's bike.

Yeah, doesn't seem like anything that will make a big sales impression, so it is likely to be dropped from the lineup even if it actually makes it onto dealership floors.

Buell provided a good opportunity for HD to have a separately branded line targeted at younger buyers.
But HD killed of Buell when they were busy selling lots of traditional bikes to baby boomers.
There's a few Buell's at every track day, I'm sure those owners were frustrated by HD management.

Instant collector's bike. The only place you'll likely see one, is in a wealthy man's heated garage, (Jay Leno).

Looks ok I guess. I've never been a fan of the SUV on two wheels genre.
I wonder if its even a runner, or just a show piece to gauge public reaction.

Regarding Buell. My cousin bought a Cyclone for cheap over the summer and gave it minor refresh. He said he likes it almost as much as his Ducati 996, and was surprised at how well it handled despite a non racer seating position.

I've yet to ride it, but it feels really nice sitting on it.

When I took the MFS beginner course/license test we rode Buells. This was around 2003/4. Think it was a 250cc but searches are telling me the smallest was a 500. Maybe I’m misremembering. At the time, I thought is was a pretty great little beginner bike.

The problem with it won't be the looks, the colors, or the performance (or lack thereof). It's going to be the ridiculous price tag that will be hung on it. It's a Harley. There isn't anything on this planet bearing that name that isn't overpriced. Think this thing will be any different? Just wait until the electric ones hit the showroom floor... We really are witnessing the beginning of the end for Harley. Merchandising has to be the only thing that has kept them out of full on bankruptcy thus far.

Has anyone ridden the HD "Livewire"? I'd never buy an electric bike, and I'm sure the Livewire is out of my price range. But I wouldn't mind a test ride. I'm sure it's like a rocket off idle, but I'm most curious about how it sounds. Being a Harley, you know it's not as silent as any other electric bike, with plenty of built in artificial sounds.

Off road, dual purpose bikes have no interest for me.

Thanks for the swift response. My wife heard it and thought I was playing with her vibrator. :p:p

The snide part of me REALLY wants to run with that...

Run! No offense will be taken. Even if I had a wife.

I'll go first: The Harley may be louder, but the vibrator leaves it in the dust. The vibrators batteries last longer. The vibrator handles better, has a higher top speed, and requires a lot less maintenance.

Your turn.

If you did have a wife and she recognized the sound of you playing with her vibrator then she'd have prior knowledge of you playing with it and perhaps even the manner in which you play with it. Now I'm not passing any kind of judgement on how you play with your non existent wife's vibrator, as long as both the wife and the vibrator are indeed both non existent.

Well, Woody Allen may or may not have been telling the truth, but the fact is I've never had an intimate relationship with a female that lasted as long as Hitler and Eva Braun.

It's Friday and I'm already comparing myself to Hitler. Tomorrow night's sizing up to be one hell of a Saturday night! :(:(

Charlie Manson seems to have done pretty well with gals, go with that for tommorow night then Sunday morning you can do the Jeffrey Dahmer thing and bake a nice fresh Quiche Lorraine for the trifecta!

Well we know that Manson was guilty because President Nixon publicly stated that before the trial was over.

Still off subject, this build video is for you DIY-ers. Talented craftsman with caveats.
PS: Go ahead and feel butt hurt 'cause I gotta say: his bike is rather fuggly, and: how come he overbuilt the frame with all that heavy steel? plus: Didn't he think about wind drag from the rider when he designed the fairing? Not least: Tiny bicycle front disc?
