DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My modded 1980 GS1100 was built by me with rearsets that move my feet back further than the stock pegs. My new girlfriend would love to ride with me but I would have to find a way to mount passenger pegs somewhere. I would welcome suggestions on how to put passenger pegs on this bike.

The way i see it, you really have two choices.

You can either convert that bike back to the original footpeg and control position, or you can find yourself another bike to take the girlfriend out for rides on. I vote for option 2, that beast is hot just like she sits.

Option three, get her her own bike. Make sure she's a keeper first, or the custody battle may suck.

Option 4. Leave her at home. All you are going to hear is whining, " I'm too hot, my bum hurts, I need to pee, can we stop and look at this yard sale, slow down, do you have to tip it over like that.........ad nauseum.

Personally the bike is for "me time" and to get away to recharge. Do other things together but if you are a glutton for punishment, as the gurus say......get another properly set up ride. Lots of storage would also be smart when she makes you hit those yard sales. :)

Only 1 solution

2nd bike time..
Something big, smooth, comfy, with lots of storage for her stuff.

I have 2 bikes...
1) A Goldwing for L O N G rides and cruising 2 up...
2) A GS850 GL for ME time (I took off the passenger pegs too)

ps: Your bike looks great the way it is right now

It looks like you could come off the header mount for the right foot peg. For the left, it looks like you would have to fabricate something. By looking at your motorcycle, fabricating something up wouldn't be out of your capability... My friend likes my Beemer, but she LOVES the GS1100! "The faster you go, the tighter she holds on" :)

I got a girlfriend.......now what?

... bury your assets !! :D

I can't see how burying his assets is going to help him to ride with her....... Getting them out in the open is usually more effective.

Copy the exhaust carrier mount for the opposite side. Weld mounting points to the frame. Make it easy to remove for when you want the solo look.

Attach pegs in position of exhaust mounting bolt.

Option 4 adapt a set of rear passenger pegs from a new bike on the down tube in front of rear shock . might be a little work if she is worth it go for it ,! ??

The bike will never deny you a "ride". It will never leave you or cheat on you. It is way less expensive to maintain. Most of the reasons I dont have nor NEED a girldfriend. Life is simple and quiet for me so why mess up a good thing.

Mount some pegs to.... um... Hand her the keys to her car....

+1 on another bike. But, you are in Ontario, and the insurance is going to be a killer, isn't it?

Also, gift her a MSF course if she expresses an interest in riding.
