jetting

Hi I have a 83 750 and I've read about the jetting here on the forum.
I was going to remove my airbox intake snorkel for more flow and I'm sure I've seen the specs here but now I can't find them.
I also run a Yoshi 4-1 on it.
The bike runs pretty good but around 6-7000 rpm it does feel flat especially in 4 and 5 gear.I can push it past the hump but the jetting is off.

Any takers??
Mikey

Don't remove the snorkel. It makes a big difference in performance. Either remove the airbox altogether and go with pods or leave things alone.

I've got a 78 GS750E and I'm having problems getting performance in 4th and 5th gear. After adjusting the valves, cleaning and sync. the carbs, and adding Dyna 2000 ignition, the bike ran better, but still had performance problems. Dwell was set at 40 BTDC and I found that it has more low end torque at 37 BTDC (recommended stock setting). I'm now in the process of downsizing main jets. I would like to know what the stock jet size originally was? Any idea gang? This bike came to me with 110 main jets and I went down to 107.5's and am now getting better pulling power off turns in 5th gear. The plugs are still black, but are starting to show signs of brown. I plan to try 105 jets and a K&N filter and see what the plugs look like. I'm finding that now amount of fancy airbox drilling and snorkle tampering will make up for an over jetting problem. Oh, a person can tape off part of the snorkle to see if it makes a lean running bike run better. Or remove the air filter to see if an over rich condition runs better, but these are only tests to see which way you should move in rejetting.

'79GS750E When I changed to Emgo pods and Yosh race pipe my mechanic gave me 112s and the bike ran OK. If you go with K&N you will have to put that 115 back in most likely. We need to set up a post for different bike models to list mods (air intake and exhaust) to get a starting point for jetting our bikes for similar mods. On the volusiaownersleague.com there is a jetting matrix plus people post what pipes and intake mods they did and what jet, pilot jet and needle position they are using. There is no reason why we can't start something like this and get it pinned to the top of the page.

Not likely. Once I rejet I run with an air filter and then without one, doing plug chops to see what the two effects have on the running of the engine. I know the K&N filters are good, but they won't run an engine as lean as running without a filter at all.

Yes PLEASE please put together a matrix cause the dynojet recommended settings are bullshit.
I've been tweaking with my carbs since last december and I still have yet to really ride it besides to work and back. Any further and it fouls out.

Are those dynojet 115's or Mikuni 115's??
Please tell me. i'm trying to get my bike dialed in right.
