A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just a note of gratitude...

Seems like a fair bit of contention and disquiet in the forums today, so I just wanted to a positive note and say thanks to all the generous members who have helped this newbie navigate many details of his new love! The tuning is ongoing, but it's getting there, and I'm headed out for a sunny coastal ride shortly.

My goal is to get the bike back to original as much as possible (pods excepted, sorry!). And to keep it running (and in my garage) as long as I can ride it.

Any of you in the vicinity of Ipswich, MA, hit me up anytime.

Cheers.
Mike

The folks here are generally a helpful and generous bunch with a passion for motorcycles, especially GSs. I imagine the thread you’re referring to, the one about Black vs. Gay neighbors will likely get moved to the Vortex, where it belongs, if it belongs at all. Good work. Keep it up.

Cool, keep us posted!

The forum is occasionally rocked by a few black sheep, but generally the mods are doing a good job reigning them in. Afterwards, motorcycle discussions continue.
The thread Rich is referring to has already been moved to the vortex or deleted. I hadn't had the chance to check it out, but OP is on my ignore list anyway, so I guess I haven't missed much.

Ipswich Massachusetts? It looks like a beautiful part of the country. Humm, I'm looking for a 2022 summer time ride destination.🌞

Glad you got the info you were needing, seems you're doing great. Just wondering why the pods if most all else is orig...The good is the bike stuff, ...All the other stuff nobody will see if they just don't push those buttons.

Well, I inherited pods and just invested in new K&N's, jets etc. I figured finding a stock airbox would wind up just as expensive and need rehabbing to boot. But maybe I'll get around to it at some point. Lord knows tuning the pilot circuits is driving me a little batty.

Ipswich is definitely a beautiful place, as is all of the MA north shore from Cape Ann to the NH border. When I'm not wrenching I'm digging in the dirt to grow things, digging in the estuarial mud for clams and oysters, or chasing striped bass in my little boat... Obsessing over the bike has definitely cut into my fishing time!

Completely understand... With the orig air box, R&R carbs is a real PITA, but there's no tuning nightmare as you seem to be going thru now...Hang in there, you'll get it.
