A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Here she is the way I found her. She had been the previous owner's track bike, but had not been ridden in about three years when I found her in 2012.

I put a home-made two-up seat, replaced the tank with one from a GS850 and added a head light and speedo. I also replaced those old corroded wheels and shortened the exhaust pipe. The Stator Papers and carb cleaning pages from GSR were invaluable. My wife and I had quite a few fun rides on her for the next three years. I even rode it from Seattle to Sturgis and back in 2015. The bike's been very reliable and a lot of fun. In fall of 2016, the tank started leaking. So I replaced it with a used tank from a 85 GS700E and because of the size and shape of the new tank, I decided to make a few changes to go along with the new lines. I just completed the changes this year. I've tried posting an after photo, but apparently because I'm a newbie I can only upload one photo per post. Here is a list of some of the upgrades:
Minor frame bracing
1988 Katana 1100 front forks with fork brace
1988 Katana wheels
Customized Hayabusa exhaust
Hayabusa rearsets
Re-jet kit for pods and new exhaust
530 conversion
ZX6C aluminum swing arm with new bearings.
New compact Gel battery
Clip-ons
Custom front fairing stay, fairing & head lights
Custom seat cowl (made from the GS850 tank)

Welcome Keith. Sound like an awesome ride....
Newbie has nothing to do with posting pics, the site only allows one attachment per post.
You would need to join a photo sharing account and link pictures.

Hoping to see the bike in its current form.

Thanks for the tip. Here's the finished product. I still have a little welding to finish on the exhaust tale pipes.

Now that is something special! Beautiful motorcycle, I love the tail section. I can see hints of the 850 tank, but I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't say anything. Nice job👍

Cool!

Good looking bike, doesn't look like something that's been cobbled together.

I narrowed the 850 tank trimmed a little off the bottom edge and added some pieces cut from a gs450 tank for the hump. Thanks for the kind words. It was a lot of work but I?m very happy with the results.

The before and after pics are amazing! Sweet ride. :encouragement: Can you tell us a little about the ZX6 swing arm change?
