A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello all,

finally got some megs loaded and I can post some pics of the trip I did earlier on in the year in May.

for some or other reason ( i am not a very good computer operator!) I could only manage to get the pics loaded as an albumn in my profile. so if any of you are interested go onto my profile and click on my albums. sorry dunno why it did this.

was interesting SA has some awsome places and Port Nolloth was defineatly a place to consider going again- and the awsome roads going through the Karoo/Kalahari.

thanks all

Great pics and a stunning bike. I love that color scheme and wish we had some of those over here in the US.

Thanks chaps for helping to get the pics onto the posts.

glad you like them.

the colour scheme of my bike is/was a popular one here- I have seen a few black and orange ones as well.
mostly here were all 1000's. The 850' s were not so popular, i would imagine owing to the close price difference, blokes who bought would take the plunge and go for the bigger one.

Awesome pics, that is one part of the country I still need to get to on a bike...one day.
Nice thing about the G is that it has the range for those long streches through the Karoo and the middle of nowhere.

Great pics. Thanks for letting us explore your part of the world with you! :)

ja cool man. I will try to post some more if you guys want?

at the top of Northern cape not far outside of Augrabies, there was a very "lonely" stretch road is in fantastic condition - i managed to get the old girl up to the red line in 5th (top) gear. speedo read 200km/h+ but the needle was bouncing around a bit. maximum speed for about 2 minutes and then had a thought of what if the engine goes bang - how do i get home, and what if i run out of fuel - i am stuffed as no one around for 100's of km. slowed to carefully to a respectable 140km h, and decided to enjoy the scenery.

strange thing is even though it is semi desert- the air temp was rather "Fresh".

hoping to maybe go next year again , but i also would like to go spend some time with my dad fishing near angola.

cheers all
