A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I need a Suzuki GS300L manual from any year, 82-85 works. I need the cylinder bore limits for a GS300L and maybe the torques for the cylindr head bolts. somebody said that the bore limit is 60.095(2.3659 in)
I asked my mechanic and he said that that didn't seem right.
Just send me a PM with the detail and ill get back to you

Thanks,
KT

To begin with your pistons are 62mm. So 60.095 for the bore limit is way off. I will try and get back with the information that you are after. What size are the head bolts -- 8mm?

The bore wear limit is 62.095mm. So the 0.095mm wear equates to 3 1/2 thou" or 0.0037". The section of the bore with the greatest wear is going to be about 1/4 to 1/2" down from the top of the cylinder where the piston rocks to change direction from upward stroke to downward stroke. Good luck.

P.S. If you need another set of pistons. Oversize or whatever, then the 650 pistons are the same as yours.

If you are looking for manuals and can't find them here try http://www.e-classicbike.com/

Stephen is located in New Zealand but he is a pleasure to deal with and he can likely provide what you need. I was looking for a manual for the 82 Katana and he was able to provide me with a reprint of the factory manuals for all 80 to 83 750 series GSs including mine. Total cost shipped to Canada $50.

He also asked me to mention, he has a lot of manuals for Hondas if anyone is looking.

Cheers all,

Sounds like a great service; how do they afford that?

your $50.00 INVESTMENT is what prompted me to relay it yet again..When i got my blue one in my album pics all i knew was it was a Suzuki and the VIN..When i called they told me it was manufactured in August of 76..I hope anyone seeing this post will store the number in their cell phones, address books, wherever and just pass it along anytime they can think to.. And your welcome and MERRY XMAS

Posplayr...probably not many people know about it...I even offered the gal to pay for them. I got one for my 77 750 and my78 750. Took about 2 weeks to arrive..remeber folks youre only gonna get what you are savy enough to ask about..Think your situation thru and what specifically you wanna ask and then fire away.

I put that information on the "More Manuals" page right after you told me about it. Those are some nice folks at the HQ.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Cool Cliff..I hadnt had need of the site in quite some time to have seen it..not that i was saying you had disregarded it.. Was more making the point ( as has been made to me ) to use the search mode and to read everythng in that post because somewhere someone had already addressed this. Manuals seem to be a hot topic for sure..By the way I hadnt heard much about Jessie since you guy took the sledge to the frame..How is she and how are you doing??

:( Boy am I bummed. Tried the number this morning but it now seems to be automated and I couldn't get a live body. I don't know if that's because i'm calling from the frozen white north or not but I suspect if I did get through they wouldn't help me anyway as the center is Suzuki U.S. . Everytime I call down there to a major corporation, they give me the, sorry can't help you" heave ho.

I did try to contact Suzuki Canada but its only be e-mail so I'll need to see what happens.
