If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

TREES!!! There they are in the distance, I think I'll head for them. (I am going to the Illinois river road)
DSC00746.jpg

Now, someting I bet you didn't know, Illinois has vinyards!
DSC00747.jpg

I got into Pekin, and Headed over the river to the west side. I know it's a little less crowded on the south, and Pioria is nicer anyway. Fallowed a Harley into Peoria, Darn those things are loud. (also seeing if I could take a picture while riding)

And then I saw THIS!!!!!
DSC00749.jpg

Why is it here? It is at a tire change place. To give you an Idea what size it is, those are street lights in the back. Just odd. Here is where I really missed anyone from the forum.

OK, so now I'm trying to keep going while laughing VERY hard.

Peoria has a "New" revitalized riverfront. some of the wonderful old stuff has been kept around though

So I parked and took a look around the nice little park:

Then there was this statue thing in the middle of the park. it had a handle for turning on the side, but when I did, it sounded like the tin man from the wizard of oz. but it was very pretty:

But it was time to head out to the river road, what I had been out here for.

Sorry for the fuzzy pic, but this was another odd sight:

And finally I'm there:

Another fuzzy picture of another park "Poplar Lane Park"
DSC00759.jpg

The poplars from said park. But there was no wind, so no POPs

Gas prices in general, I'm up in Chicago alot, gas prices are insane there. I know when my sister came down a couple of weeks ago, it was 2.75 still. it's just YUCK all over.

Bud, come on down to Logan County, we have two hills!! lol And the gas is only $2.25 (what a bargain!)

Bud,

Thanks for the story and pics from your ride. I'll have to try this. It is always fun to travel vicariously through the eyes of someone else. Especially when you can't be there in person.

Great pics! I need to get back in the habit of taking my camera with me everywhere. You never know just what you're going to see! Thanks for sharing those!

pics of my hometown!

pics of my hometown!

Thats cool. I live in peoria. Next time your here, go up Grandview Drive, or Peoria Heights Prospect rd., Up high on the bluff, looking over upper Peoria lake. President Roosevelt toured this drive and said It was the one of the best views in the world. No I'm not that old, but I saw a documentary on t.v. If you came down into the river valley on interstate 74 from the east, a picture from the bluff there looking at the skyline/riverfront is a good one too. Something about the town your raised in Out of high school in '82, I had to get out of this town! Ten years spent in Tulsa, Just felt the need to come home... By the way, where do you live? Maybe we'll ride sometime. Got a bunch of friends here that will make a good time of it. Peace, A.J.

Nice pics of a trip.

Too bad it's so flat huh?

Yup, There are a few places out here that would rival the salt flats, the big differance is that here you'd have to build the road.

Awsome pictures Bud, thanks for sharing your ride. I live/stationed at Ft Riley, KS and can say without a doubt that there is a lot of flat land in this area. To the west just a bit I saw a sign that said "see 5 states" which seemed silly to me considering you have to go in a tower to do it.
