A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

That is coming along stunningly, it is gooing to look so good on the bike.
As I said, your skills know no limits.

Well, here it is. It doesn't cover the lip on the tank like I planned, thicker final layer of foam would have helped, but it does fit the fender nice and my mounting holes even lined up. As a bonus it feels really good to sit on, no sharp corners under my thighs and seems plenty padded.

Very nice, job well done, brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "less is more"

Awesome!

I see what you mean about the lip, but it does sit against the tank well and you can't really notice it... it's a better fit than the rear of my seat to my tail piece anyway

At least you won't slide forward and have any manliness removed unexpectedly

That seat really suits the lines of the bike perfectly too, nicely done again :D

hi, HD nice work!!!!

I wouldnt mind about the lip in the tank....the seat loooks cool! the style kinnda reminds me of "bomber"

cool bike!

Thanks guy's it is truely appreciated! I guess maybe I am being critical, but I had hoped for a better fit up front, shape is right so maybe I can elongate the rear mounting hole in the fender and move the whole seat forward...
I will probably ride it as is for a summer and then take the seat and leather I have to the ulpolstery shop and get it done by a Pro.
Yea divera84, amazing coincindence isn't it! ;)

I know exactly what you mean!

That might work actually, just slide her forward half an inch or something...

Just a small update, I've been tidying up the wiring after soldering in extensions on the tail and turn signals wires to reach to the factory connections. Even found some black sheathing that matched the OEM loom to a "T" in one of my pack-rat boxes of bits. Tested everything and we are good, even the turnsignal flasher works! ;)
Then took my die-grinder to the rear fender once again and turned the mounting holes into slots that I used for the seat, should snug up to the tank much better.
I am really liking the new found "Make Offer" button on E-bay. I found these covers listed. made an offer and the seller accepted. When they showed up Thursday they were actually BETTER than I envisioned. No dents, no cracks, and only small pitting on one of them . A little 0000 steel wool lubed with ATF and then chrome polish on them and the screws and they looked a thousand times better than my originals and I picked them up for only $10!

Score! I got my CB360 tail light with the make an offer button too, listed for $60 got it for $45... it's a very handy feature that one :)

Pic's of the adjusted seat yet?

NO FAIR! Sunday morning is my time to go out to the shop and play before the Wifey wakes up and it's friggin 14F (-10C) out there this morning!!!
Plugged in the kerosene torpedo heater just to get it warm enough for the propane tank to convert from a liquid to a gas to fire up the GOOD heater.... I'm gettin too old for this crap!

Oh so true. Planned on working on the bike yesterday after my daughter's basketball game since the temps climbed into the 40s for the first time in over a week; ended up staying in town all day because the Jeep broke down again on Friday and had to tow it over to the shop yesterday. By then, everyone was pretty dang hungry so we grabbed an early dinner.

Helena has a honey do list for me so I don't know if I'll get out much before my daughter's basketball practice at 2 (runs two hours and it's getting dark as we're coming home).

Sorry for the Hijack HD.

And, as long as had the camera out....

Then I put her away for the night, then it dawned on me... they DO look like they were made by the same guy! :)
