    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Howdy folks! New to this forum, but will have lots of questions later. Just picked up a 78 1000E that I will be restoring. Used to race one back in 82, so I am familiar with the breed. Also have a 85 7/11 GSXR that I will be playing with this winter!

Welcome! Sweet deal on the bike. I don't know if Rob S likes to be called Dick, but he is from NY.

Yes, communications are sometimes misunderstood.

My friend Jimmy Mc Govern (RIP) was a roadracer. He raced Ducatis, a 900 Desmo.
He took 2nd place at the first "Battle of the Twins" in Daytona. I believe it was 1980.
I trailered his bike from Chicago, and brought my 1980 Suzuki down to FL also,
Those were the days.
ps. Rob is ok... I didn't know about the skunk stripe either! I just turned 64 and did some dragracing in the late 70's / early 80's, mostly in the midwest.

Welcome to the funhouse! Good luck with the cycle. Is that the 7/11 in the background of your profile pic? Id love to see a picture of that along with the GS. And if the GSXR is an 85 can I assume you're not in the US?

Canadian here, your observant. Sorry about the dick comment,,didn't know what a skunk was. Yes, and \I am painting it like stock, so if anyone can give me a paint code, I'd be much obliged! I will get some better pics up of both scooters today.

I got 88 GSXR rims to go on the 7/11, and some 99 rims for the GS. Upside down forks for the GSXR, and the forks from the 7/11 will go on the GS!!

Why do you call the GSXR a 7/11?? I never heard that before. Rob, once you get to know him you'll understand his sense of humor if that's what you want to call it... He's a good guy.
