DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Okay, I know I've just about done this subject to death, but while making an oil cooler adapter for squaredancerlynn I thought about what Chris D said about his adapter, where he thought it better to return the oil closer to the centre of the "bath" between the gear box and cylinder block, so I've now created the "Telcool MK3", to quote Brit 7/11, ha ha.

Have a look at the pics, you'll have to wade through the earlier versions, but from pic 16 on, you'll see how I've been spending my free time this weekend.

G'Day Van,

Well if the 550 has the same oil pressure switch plate behind the cylinder block as it's bigger brother's, the adapter will fit, no worries. let me know.

Cheers, Terry.

Thanks Steve, I certainly hope this is the last version, but I think I've got it right now.

I don't think the position of the return line would make that much difference on a low pressure oil system. The pressure will equalise. I may just take mine off the have a little look.....

I got a little confused reading all the posts about your adapter.. is your design compleate? also will it hook-up to my oil pressure switch etc?

and finnaly of course how much do you want for one?

G'Day Van,

Yes it's complete, I hope that there won't be a need for a MK4 version, ha ha! The price is 75.00 including all the little bits and pieces that go with it, (you'll have to source your own cooler and hose though, checkout ebay)and airmail shipping to your door.

how are you taking payment? check pay-pal, visa? ;-)

Van, paypal is the preferred method, I'm trying to "covertly" buy a real nice GSX1100 from a mate, and as the wife doesn't have visibility of my paypal account, it's the perfect crime!

Let me know if you want one, and I'll send you an invoice like I did for Brit 7/11 and squaredancerlynn.

I don?t know much about anything, and I know even less about women, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you are entering a scary place with that plan...

Don't sweat it mate, after 24 years with the same woman, I still know nothing about them!

The plan will work, as long as she's not home when I bring the bike home. I got away with it once before by telling her that I had just brought it back from being repaired, I'd taken the tank off first so she couldn't see it was a different bike, (they only seem to recognise color, not model types or amounts of cylinders etc) but I've learned that you can only get away with that kind of bluff once.

Yes I'm waiting for mine :D Since I have a set I plan to install the
4v 750 oil pump gears when I install the oil cooler

It's on it's way mate, enjoy!

Hi Terry,

I've tried to PM you about buying one, but the forum software gave me some funny responses. If nothing comes you way can you get back to me>

Thanks

No worries Kim, I replied to your pm just a moment ago. Hey I like your little "running man" thing, where do you guys find them?

I would be interested in an update from those of you who have installed Terry's switch along with what else you might have learned from your oil cooler installation.

Is there enough room to install it without removing the carbs?
