A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

My new brake pads wont fit. It isnt enough space inside the caliper.

What to do?

I cant get the caliper off the torqye arm bolt is impossible to remove.

I managed to push them apart. Man they are stubborn.

Where do the weird metsl pins that are shaped like \_____u_____/ go?

On top of the pads... :)

I put the old pads in and then a spanner between and then I used a wrench to twist it so the pistons got out of the way.

I figured they were on top of the pad on the inside. Only place it seemed to fit.

If the pistons are stuck to the point where you have to fight them to get them to go in for new pads, you would do well to break down the caliper completely and make sure everything is clean inside.

I have a new piston set, so I would like to do that. But the bolt for the torque arm is a magical bolt that cannot be removed. I also do not understand how I make the brake fluid vacate the brake system. Like I can spin the bolt (while holding the cotter pin thing on the back still), but it does not move at all. Like, it will turn, but wont vacate the torque arm or the calipers. I have removed the cotter pin.

The rear brake has been dragging, and it does not seem a new disk or pads helped that particularly. I would think the pistons would loosen up after I pried them apart. Haven't been able to drive it yet, I managed to mess up the o-ring for the oil filter cover on the first attempt, so I lost a lot of oil, and I didn't have more there. I also am a bit unsure of the rear shocks, but Ill sort it tomorrow.

If I took them appart I could also rattlecan the caliper so it looks tidier (not sure how to remove the sbs sticker without damage, maybe I can buy a new one. Id also enjoy being able to push the bike around easier, I look so weak trying to push it now.
