I've been through the ubiquitous "charging issues" with my 450T before. Last time a Honda R/R got me all fixed up. Now its not charging again, but when I check the output from the stator I don't get any voltage. Does this mean that the stator is cooked? It doesn't seem to be shorted to the engine case as there is no continuity between any of the leads and either the frame or the case. Is no voltage what you would expect from a bad stator? I guess its time to pull the cover off and take a look. Am I correct in remembering that these run in an oil bath and that I need to drain the block before I pull the side cover? Any advice is appreciated.
