Ok, I finally decided to post something. This is of my first long ride after buying the GS and getting it running in August of 2010. I love how far I have come in the last almost ten years. I'm the one in the orange vest and my old military Gore-Tex pants. I lived 30 miles east of Colorado Springs at the time and rode with two co-workers up to Wilkerson Pass west of Pikes Peak on Hwy 24

I'm Going with Lyle as well. Love that shot, love that pipe, love that bike! Eli69 gets my vote!

Very nice pictures of Joyful rides. But, my definition of a "Joy Ride" is a unlawful, irresponsible ride. Such as "We stole the keys to my moms car and took it out for a Joy Ride". Or "I pulled the baffle out of my exhaust and went ripping up the countryside. I vote for ELI 69...

Well this was a fun theme....
Lots of good stories, and memories...and some really nice photos...

Many were joyful memories of an important ride....
Kerffunk (are you smiling in there?)
dpep - wonderful mountains/great looking trip
Cowboy's - first real ride and big smile
Rich's - early bike
Marvinsc - and that's a real smile right there
Redamn - you don't look joyful? - look aaaarrrgh - Fun photo though

Others got a loved one involved...
Mine, Gustov, Spyder, Jedz (pretty), and Burque (Joy or nerves? LOL)

And a couple involved a little extra speed...
Storm - wow, and Trevor - oops

But the one I keep coming back too, because it is visually the best photo (IMO) is Eli69
It tells a story.
"This bike and I, we are a goin' that way, and we don't know, or care, what's there."
Even the tilted horizon adds to the mystery of the road ahead.

This picture brings ME joy.....:D
(and it doesn't hurt this is a style of photo I love to take myself;))

EDIT: Thought I would be the first to vote for Eli....I guess a little brevity might have helped...LOL:D

Nothing says "Joy Ride" like a "Certificate of performance" Trevor for me this week.

Agree with this. Nearly all of my pics are static pics and I didn?t have one that really fit the theme well enough.

I don't really have a shot that fits this theme JUST right for this, but. I remember that day, and we did have a lot of fun, was a great day. That said, I agree with Storm on the definition of a "joy ride". The 2 that stand out in that sense to me are Eli, and Trevor. Nothing says "joy ride" more than having it certified with a speeding ticket, lol. Trevor for me this week...

I too have Eli's exhaust and Trevor's cop on my short list, props also to Bob for the little girl
but I keep coming back to marvinsc's muddy bike and big grin. There's my vote.

Some of the pics may be good reminders of a joyful ride, but that is not contained in the picture itself.

I do like the general pose of Eli's picture. I would like to see some more of the road ahead, and more of a scene in distance, was thinking was seeing a lot of the shoulder of the road, then noticed the open pipe - - oh, that is the intent of the pic.

Trevors joy will included a good fine, I suspect. Nice the way the pic includes the bikes and the cop car and Trev and the cop, both with items in hand that tell the story. Is something, though, to have such a smile on face, and appear jovial in that situation.

Scott Marvin's captured the joyful smile better than my pic did (dispite the fact that I had just been jumping-hopping-giddy joyful).
So I'll throw my vote to marvinsc.

marvinsc for me as well, he looks like the cat that just ate the canary. The joy in a ride like Trevors is not getting caught.

In think trevor "earned" this one. He gets my vote.

If I remember correctly, I don't think they got a ticket for this one. Between Rob's gray hair and Trevor's B.S. I think they got out of a ticket. Correct me if I'm wrong Trevor... 🤔
