A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

OK, I had to pick something. This will have to do. No new pics this week.

Happy Friday, GSR!! Let's review our photos and vote!
First the theme of the week by Redman (Dave):

You Pick - I mean, you pick some aspect, some element of this pic that gets your attention, and then you post a pic of something similar, maybe it is your bike in some sort of field of some kind, maybe your bike in between two rows of something, maybe your bike surrounded by taller things, maybe your bike parked in someplace would not expect to see a bike, or whatever else you see in my sample pic that gets your interest.
(In some photo games/contest they call this "free association".)

Very nice! Good turnout, good photos.
Don't forget to vote, and as always, if anything is amiss, please let us know.

Hard to choose with such an open theme. But it allows for a wide variety of ideas. Some of us chose the single-point perspective aspect of the converging lines, others the "between two rows of something: aspect. So, going with the photo that grabs me every time I scroll through the lot.

Glen dorkburger gets my vote.

Nice pics all.

Voting for Mr Dpep. Interesting story that I didn't know much about before. A bit of a mystery still. Questions about the young pilot's competence. Was there equipment on the plane that he was not aware of? So I read a bit about that and now I'm going to look up some buddy holly music.

I have no choice. The theme "You Pick" and the picture in a corn field got me... Pick'in corn just seems right, though not usually from a motorcycle....Redman today

Vote for Mr Glen Dorkburger. I like the diminishing perspective of the bricks and row of windows. And the diminishing perspective (if that is proper term/description) is a major element of my sample pic. And Glen catches it in two planes.

I'm going to go with Rich and his b/w composition.

By the way, Don, I used to live six miles due south of the crash site. True story.

They've all got something going for them, but on balance (and throwing a dart at the screen) I'll go for...

Hey all, voting for Rich. I like how the bike is center of frame, but not center of road. It provides just enough asymmetry to make it more interesting.... plus black and white.

Yes, many nice pics, most that have some element similiar to some element to the sample pic.
Mostly some sort of diminishing perspective of something, or bike inbetween rows of something.

On the occassion that I took the sample pic, What caught my attention, and what got me to pull off the road and pose that sample picture, was that the sun at that time of day and time of year was directly in line with that little open row. Was about no shadow down the length of that open row. As evident by my shadow pointed right in line with the open row. The other factor was that the field was accessable from the road (often is a ditch or row of brush or rough terrain)... but none of that is part of the photo.

Cool. That would put you pretty much in Clear Lake. would it not?

Good morning all.
the count...
Rich- 4
Dorkburger- 4
Baatfam- 1
Dpep- 1
Burque- 1
Redman- 1

We need a tiebreaker, or I’m fine passing the honors to Rich.
