Pic of the week game

Ruthie from Redman rules!
She is in a trailer, can you imagine riding down the road and seeing that behemoth coming towards you?

Porkypine is a regular (and real) porkypine and has no bike. I have never seen one that close, but if I did, I would like for it to be on other side of fence like that.

I liked the chrome crab, amongst the entire place and surrounding area.

THe musky is the most gigantic.
CBX in line of elephants, interesting.
Rogers big bug, and that is a big bug, 3D, I think those shadows are real, not part of a image.
Bigfoot looks like he might step down from there and "throw a leg over".

I think of this game as something of a photo contest. So as far as an interesting picture OF the subject matter (and bike); I keep coming back to mine with the bike somewhat mimicking the stark cow, and Kerfunk's pink elephant. Both are interesting pictures of the subject-theme-category and bike, with little other distractions from the main subject-theme.

THe way Kerfunk's pic is posed really shows the size of the elephant compared to the bike, with the bike under and behind the elephant really makes the elephant stand out and look larger. The only distraction being the sun flares, but it kinda looks like the elephant is attacking the sun. Now, I suspect the "overexposure" and flares were inadvertent or maybe to get good exposure of the bike. And maybe the bike is behind the elephant because that is where the parking space was, and maybe took pic from the shadow side from concern of background clutter, but, anyway, that overall pose made it an interesting photo. The photo is an interesting picture of the gigantic animal and the bike (and that is the entire picture). And I can say most all the same for mine.

I think I have seen that elephant in the distance in other pics/poses, but this composition is quite interesting, especially for the category of "gigantic" animal. The only distraction is the overexposure/ flares, but in a way, that make the pic more interesting.

I would say mine and Kerry Kerfunks are close tie, but I will give him the benefit of the tie breaker. My vote is for Kerry Kerfunk's gigantic pink elephant.

Good week...

Liked them all this week...seriously.

kerrfunk - Outstanding framing of your bike. And the sunburst does not distract.

Redman - Dave, as always, great photo. That is not the first "cow on a trailer" I've seen. Wish you did one of two things. At least parked up a bit so I can read the sign on the trailer, or backed your bike up to the trailer, like you were towing it.

steve mudoch - Nice move putting the bike at the end of the elephant line. Would they have let you pull right on the grass behind them?

Burquet73 - Hands down the creepiest gigantic animal of the bunch...ick

bccap - Is this your first entry? Anyway, I love it. Just a stunning building and statue. Makes me want to visit.

Gustovh - That fish is the same size as your bike. Did you have to jump the curb to get up there?

My two favorites are Charlie G's and Spyder's

Charlie G - Great! Funny stuff and nicely shot. That is a perspective I appreciate. It really looks like he sees a neat, shinny thing, and you are digging for your keys....LOL

Spyder - Outstanding looking bike, and it works so well with the bulldog. Very nice photo. It is like they are both guarding something, maybe the tree?

Very, very tough call, but in the end, my vote is Charlie G's Big Foot...

Good pics...I couldn't find anything to post this week...

I like Bccap's
Sometimes I think we are forgetting that this is about the artistry of the photos and not the subject....or we will turn this into nothing but another "riding game" thread. Imo..

Yes I jumped the curb, but it was a low one.

Just a thought among us friends.

The end of the year is coming, and when we get there, I propose we vote for the best picture of the year.

Problem is we will have 49 pictures and not enough voters. So here is what came up with.
Each winner picks their favorite/best winning photo starting December 22nd, and we vote on the 28th, for the overall 2018 winner.
The winner can start us off in January, if we decide to continue.
(And yes, I know Christmas is that week. We can move the date if we wish)

Just a suggest...so let's discuss. Burgue73, you started this...thoughts?

Dave, I keep a spreadsheet tally of the votes just because that's how I roll.
According to my records (which I started keeping in August)
we had nine submissions for Gigantic Animal, and fourteen people voted. Highest vote count on my record.
Highest picture count I have is 13 pictures for Unusual Place.

And multiple wins: Burque73:7, Redman:5, trevor:3, Jedz123:3, Baatfam:3
I count 17 different winners this year,
and 24 different people submitting pix.

Bob, I like the idea of favorite picture of the year, and I hope we continue next year. I enjoy the different challenge each week, and I often tell my friends about the motorcycle picture I'm taking each week.

I like it! Maybe do the best of the year thing in the other thread that Redman started as not to interrupt the weekly flow. You all sure have made this a fun thing. I share the weekly theme and photos with my wife and some friends regularly as well, Kerry.

Retired, Bob and Dave, what's that? I haven't counted my weekly hours worked in years but it is steadily increasing. Likely to be adding regular Saturday workload soon. Fewer miles ridden lately but my debt has greatly decreased.

Thats quite a record you've been keeping. You don't happen to have post numbers for weekly winning photos in there do you? Going back over the year will be a lengthy task.

Oh, I like this. I can add that to my theme record spreadsheet. That would also make it easier for new players to see how it works.

I am on it. Shouldn't take too long.

Great idea Bob, a best of the year sounds like fun. I like this Pic of the Week game because there is no pressure. If you want to submit a picture great! If not no problem. The tag game can get to fast paced to get the tag picture posted. Plus, with the Pic of the Week game, I find myself taking more pictures of different things when I'm out riding. 👍

OK...Here ya go.
I've updated the spreadsheet to include the winning post number, if anyone wants to look at the winners picture.
(I also added a "Winner" column. It is redundant, but makes it easier to read)
