Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

South of Big Sur, along California's Highway 1 on the Pacific ocean this April.

Here's some interesting fauna in the rock and wildflower garden my wife tends next to the house

but the wide view doesn't get the colors right so here is my entry:

Nice enough picture, but where's the bike? :-k

Rules: (from post #1)

  1. Today is Saturday, I'll start with a theme.
  2. Saturday to Thursday is submissions time. Everyone else can post one (and only one) picture that meets the theme.
  3. Friday is voting day. Vote for the picture you like the most. You can vote even if you didn't participate with a pic during the week. (voting closes at midnight, Pacific time zone).
  4. In case of a tie during the voting day, the first vote that breaks the tie the day after will decide the winner, unless of course one party wishes to concede to the other.
  5. Saturday, the winner of the week posts a new theme using an example picture.
  6. The example picture ALSO participates.
  7. Any bike can participate... not only GS's (as long as it was yours when the pic was taken)
  8. The date of the picture does not matter, or who took the pic. You can use new or old pics as long as you've got the bike in the pic (or as much of the bike as necessary for the theme) and they meet the week's theme.

I wondered the same, but gave Eli the benefit of the doubt that the curvy blurry line at the bottom is the windscreen of the bike. Personally, I'd have gotten off the bike and backed up a bit. I'm ok with it. He got part of the bike, and the fauna. Anyone else wanna weigh in? I'll agree that it is borderline.

Yep, I recognize the cut windshield of Eli69's.

No worries. Maybe a tight spot and stepping back from the bike wasn't happening. Lots of pics have had just a part of the bike in them. More would be better for sure, but flora, check, fauna, check, bike (or part of it) check.

I've gone through all my photos and only a couple of ones with wildflowers come to mind that aren't very good so it's Road Trip Time!!! Going to do my annual three national park loop tomorrow (400 miles) and hopefully come back with some ammunition. Hopefully the flowers cooperate. If not it'll be a great day anyway.

Wow Dave! Nice photo...

(As I step back and re-evaluate my potential entries)...:o
