DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

His first ride on a big bike. Age 14, some might say that we broke the speed limit....but I say we just stretched it a little.

My granddaughter who thinks ALL of the bikes in my garage are the coolest things. I'm convinced, if they still exist when she grows up, she'll be a rider...

And a few weeks ago. looking at her dads bike.

And just yesterday, we were walking thru the garage at her house, and she pointed at her dads bike and said "mo-hia-hoe". I suspect that might be the first 3 syllable word she has pronounced.

Oh, Hey, speaking of influence: Look at the change in her dad's bike.

Best pic I have for the theme. Me and my younger son @ 2011? ... as soon as he could securely plant his feet on the passenger pegs. He?s 14 now and taller than me.

Back in the film camera days I sometimes liked to play around with double exposures. This one dates from 1978.

Happy Friday GSR Photo Fans! Time to vote for one of these excellent photographs!

First, the theme of the week, by Steve Murdoch:
How about "Influencing the Grandkids".
Doesn't have to be a grandkid, but a photo of your bike with a young person. Could be a son, daughter, neighbour's kid or maybe some young person that admired your bike at a coffee shop. I think we can be fairly lax as to what age "young" would be...14ish?

More to follow...

Hard choice this week. Lotsa cute kids. My vote is for Mr. Dpep.

ot. just looked out the window. it's snowing again. grrrrrrr

Don dpepe gets my vote. The picture just stops me in my tracks. The smiles get me, and I imagine are great for don wether are some close family member (past and present or not) or some random long gone neighbor.

I have to believe the double exposure was intentional the way one is arranged with the other. And both are great captures of the scene, each with two people, so four times the difficult (or maybe to power of four).
and that is capture of light through the lens ( Not later manipulation).

if anybody wants to know how to do that on a 1970s camera.
take one picture, push the release button meant to allow rewind film, throw the lever meant to advance film and rearm the shutter but the film doesn’t advance, take the next exposure.

Well I'ma vote for redman. I like everything about that photo.
Close second for dork, honorable mention for agemax's possessed cat. What could possibly go wrong?

Don's multiple exposure is well-done, and either it's too busy for me or it's just not my style. But that's why we vote! :D
