• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Saturday morning vote tally....

As of right now we have a tie...

With one vote each, Baatfam and Cowboyup3371
With two votes each, Steve Murdoch and Dorkburger

And with three votes each, and tied for the win, gustovh and Eli69

(Confirmation would be good - thanks)

I can confirm the count on all counts.

so... here is where we wait for someone who hasn?’t voted to place a vote.

Well that would include me. I prefer eli's pic to gus's -- I think it conveys the theme better. Although I would also like to know the bunny story.
Curiously, eli and gus voted for each other.

So Eli69, what do you have for us for the coming theme?

The bunny story....I live on 11 acres of forest for the last 11 years. During that time I have added oddities to my woods, you never know what you might find, the bunny is one of those oddities. I started doing it for the grand kids, the bunny is one of the first additions.

Posting of Eli in other sections of the forum indicates he is at the NW rally in Vermont this weekend, .... and something about bears late last night.
Hey, we can wait if need be.

Awesome. This is perfect. We had a confab and decided the theme should be ROAD TRIP. Thanks for the votes dudes. I'm looking for a picture now.

ROAD TRIP. Possibly done before but ... not much else in my head right now cuz Vermont long trail beers.

Where you end up sleeping when you don't plan ahead while riding I-75 across Kansas after 2 a.m. Fortunately I prefer a firm mattress anyway.

Happened during this bucket list road trip back in 2012--10,000 miles.

Last July my grandson and I along with Charlie G, took a bit of a road trip with my homemade Sidecar set up. This is one of the pics.

Wazz on the Left and I'm on the right taking a ferry somewhere in Kentucky on our way to the last Southeast Rally. Greg, Tim Rose, Brian Wringer, and I rode two days through Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia, and North Carolina to end up in Robbinsville, NC sometime around midnight on our second full day of riding. Twelve hours on day one, and sixteen on day two, and this was all before we got to the rally to "start" riding. Oh, and I don't care what any of the other guys say, I DID see a bear on Black Mountain heading into Virginia.

Just the route to get to and from... Half of it I did in 1 day from my house to my sister's house (In TN) is about 1100 miles or so. I think this trip ended up being closer to 4K miles total spending a few days off the BRP and surrounding area. Can't wait for COVID to be done. No trips for me this year, only memories to think about...

Both the GK and the RT (having sidebags and trunk) look about the same wether going on a 20 minute afternoon ride or going cross country. But can see a couple clues in this pic of starting out on cross country ride.
Riding the RT home (Michigan) from SanDiego.

About the biggest difference, that can been seen, from a 20 minute afternoon ride than a cross country trip: The GPS mounted.

And.... the Aux Navigation Tool (Certain pages of RandyMcNally Atlas stapled together).

And.... moving van loading all daughters&SIL's possessions, so cant stay there any more.
