• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Thanks all

I think we all have that favorite spot that’s local to each of us that we visit on our bikes. Now, I guess it could be an oil stain on the garage floor that’s been there so long that you’ve given a name, but I’m thinking more of something like this. Interpret however you want. Favorite Spot.

Maybe not the most scenic, maybe not the best place to spend some time, but my favorite place in the area to stop for a roadside-bike-photo.

This is one of my favorite spots for sure. Climbing the volcanos in the foreground which overlook the city is always fun. The Sandia Mountains in the background are just spectacular at sunset.

Our family used to go to Cove Palisades, state park Madras Or. We would terrorize the place foe 5 days with up to as many as 30 people. Skiing, tubing, swimming and just laying in the sun swilling beer and watching the sights.

Overlooking the Genesee River Gorge. Probably my favorite place to ride to, take a picture of the bike at and go for a long walk.

Rain for the last three days mean no new pics so an old one of the '78.
"Favourite Spot" is probably Jordan Harbour about 15 minutes out of town on Lake Ontario.
Lovely shades of blue during the day and spectacular sunsets at night.

Happy Friday, all. Time to vote. This week's theme - Favorite Spot.

Cedar Run Pa. Its been one of my favorite places to vacation / visit since my aunt and uncle bought the inn around 1990 or so. I'm well overdue for a visit. http://Cedar Run by Glen Brenner, on Flickr

Favorite spot?
Seat of my Bonneville...

I thought about this a long time, and narrowed it down to the lake behind my house or on two wheels with my wife, and I believe I picked the better photo.

Steve Murdock gets my vote this week. I've been wanting to get up to Canada all summer. It's been two years since my last visit. Next summer for sure! 👍
