DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pingel Petcock w/ VM33

Forum Mentor
I have a GS1000c with a leaking petcock inside the valve. I cannot shut off the gas completely
I plan on changing my carbs over to VM33s this spring and put on a Pingel petcock.
I've used this before on a GSXR and I was quite pleased.
I was wondering if there are any known clearance issues with this set-up?
I have new rubbers under the tank (front and rear).

Thank you,
All the best for the new year!

Marc

I have the same setup on my katana. VM33's with a pingel petcock. The Pingel petcock is one of the best things I have bought for my bike. It flows ALOT more gas than the stock petcock. Its a piece of cake to install.

I switched my stock one for a pingle 'I have CV's though' have forgotten to switch off the fuel once ... that was enough; other than getting used to checking you will be fine.

Also Most motorcycle classes least the one I learned was quick to drill in the circle check approach...Fuel, Choke, Key On, Kill Switch, Start! ....reverse accordingly for stopping. I ofcourse did not have a manual petcock for a few seasons and had to re-teach myself that one...probably got it messed up but you get the idea.

Other than that additional check I love it!

On my GSXR, i used to to run out of gas because the lack of reserve on the high flow Pingel petcock. Its hard learning, to push the bike in the middle of the night in a rural area.

Wondering. Will VM 33's fit the small port on the 1000 head

They wont fit the small port intake boots. I can't see them being useful because the intake port is only 28mm or so. Go with vm29's for the small port head.
