hey guys, I am doing the 530 conversion, I was researching last night and cant seem to come across it tonight. can someone tell me what year Suzuki bandit sprockets will fit the 78 gs1000? I know the bandit has many more options, but I want to make sure the bolt patterns are the same. I hope someone can please verify for me.

will likely either go 17/49 or 18/50 on the conversion.

Bandit 1200 95-05 will work.

Bandit and GS1000 bolt pattern are the same

I'd like to take a moment to give a bit of love to JT Sprockets for making those sprocket drawings available on their website. (And their sprockets are top quality at very reasonable prices, too.) It's a MASSIVE help for figuring out these sorts of things. Also to Suzuki for re-using so much of their engineering and design over and over through the years; it's one of the reasons so many of us can keep old bikes on the road for so long.

My 750 has a 17x5.5 1100 gsxr rear wheel with the six bolt carrier and i run a thick side plate 520 chain for clearance. Rear sprocket is for a sp/dr600!

Z1's sprockets generally are JT. I've had plenty of luck with them on Suzuki & Kawasaki.

They also sell Emgo sprockets, which are junk; you can usually tell by their part #.... it’ll be something like emg####.
i bought some 530 emgo sprockets that looked like shark fins after about 3000 miles.

Good point. Quality matters a lot with sprockets, but it's not really visible on new parts. JT sprockets have always been great.

I've also had fast wear issues with "Driven" brand rear sprockets.

And of course, aluminum sprockets always wear very quickly, no matter what kind of guff about hardening they try to give you. Aluminum rear sprockets are never, ever worth the minor weight savings on a street bike. Just a bad idea all around.

I'm going to be replacing sprockets soon and going with an x-ring chain. Z1 seems to have what I'm looking for but I've noticed several different JT part numbers for my application (Make, model, tooth count) They're all within a few dollars of each other price wise, what are the differences?
