A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yesterday was the beginning of my riding life with my 1982 GS750TZ.
I've said this before but here I go again. Bought the bike for just under $500 with a rebuilt clutch and carbs. It's been in the shop only for minor repairs:

1. Inlet tubes
2. Carb install
3. Front turn signals
4. Compression test
5. Left switch assemble (Thanks Trippivot!)
6. Side covers (Thanks Trippivot!)

Including insurance and repair costs, I have an operational bike for just less than $1K.

Eye sores are the "L" model items which riders on here have helped me identify.

1. Headlight
2. Seat
3. Rear fender

On to the pics:

I had a great time yesterday...remembered why it's important for me to sometimes get away.

If you're not a purist I'd say keep the headlight.
I like the way the chrome bucket looks.

Also what makes you think the fender isn't T?
It may be the same as an L fender but it IS a T fender.

Also does the L seat pan fit on there properly?
Like does it lock in and everything?

Glad that you got out on it and that you see that it was worth all the effort too! I love your enthusiasm.:) And doon't be shy, keep the pics coming.

I am guessing that maybe the L and T frames are the same, so everything will fit?

The latch was modified to secure the seat with the key. I'll take a pic and show you guys.

And thanks for your inputs...I welcome it ALL!

nice bike, seat or not! How does that seat suit you? with those handlebars, I mean...If it's pleasant, don't be too quick to turf it, because when you are on the bike, that seat will "look" a lot better... the bike really looks ok. I like the round lamps too on naked bikes... Square ones look well in a fairing...

Thank You!

I appreciate the feedback.

Here are snapshots I just took with my smartphone...not the greatest but...

Wrong seat...it doesn't line up

Not sure what it's suppose to look like but it was adjusted to accomodate the seat.

And here's the "L" seat.

And the fender looks a little off.

Feedback is encouraged!

I'm going to walk the dog now and then get ready for some "Playoff Football!"

Reply to the pics when you can.

I'm bored wit the ATL/SEA game. So, I'm adjusting my clutch cable.

The clutch was rebuilt and it sure is hard to put into 1st gear. I can take off in second gear so should I even bother trying to get it to 1st?

My left hand was sore from gripping that left handle bar...something is amiss. I'm in the garage just working on my bike...lovin' it!

Here's pics from my mini job on the clutch. I pulled both cars out the the garage to make room for my baby.

Looks like its coming right along...keep it up. I like the chrome headlight bucket too...but I'm not a purist. I think you should put together what YOU like and is safe to ride.

Yeah I can see how the seats are different.
Thanks for those pictures.

I'm pretty sure that fender is the proper T fender though.
Mine seems like it sits way too high too, until I'm sitting on it that is!

Here's another shot...and thanks Tank...for your comments. We are here to learn and I appreciate it.

Here she is...runnning in the dark...just before I put her to sleep for the night. I love you "T". Goodnight and see you in the morning.
