Hope its OK to post these here but I made it, with a few thousand others, to the International Motorcycle Show on it's stop in Seattle. It was OK. Seemed smaller than previous years and their ticket management was terrible! The line to buy tickets was a few hundred people long. I had bought mine ahead of time so I walked right in.
Anyway, I snapped a few photos of some of the bikes on display and thought I'd share -
In the custom bike contest area there was this bike with an Iron Man theme to it:
The guy had a helmet to match!
Being in the Seattle area, naturally I'm a Seahawks fan so kinda liked this one,
too:
I'm not really up on my motorcycle history, but I've heard of the Vincent before. This was also on the contest floor and it got my vote:
Indian Motorcycles had a big display with a model who had something big going on, too. But I didn't snap any pics of her. Anyway, they had this rocket motorcycle on display:
Can-Am was there..again. Personally, I think those things are completely dorky, but they're featured on a TV show I watch once in awhile so a buddy of mine took a photo of me sitting on this one:
But the photo of me sitting on that Can-Am is not something I'm about to share too widely! Hilariously, some woman asked one of the sales clerks which police department was using Can-Ams. She apparently missed the HUGE poster of a TV show right next to the bike. Sheesh.
This year there seemed to be a much bigger display of vintage motorcycles, which I really liked. This bike was the Brough Superior, favored by T.E. Lawrence. I think it's kind of cool that this famous guy from history loved motorcycling so much. So now you know that you'd have something to talk about with Lawrence of Arabia if you ever shared a beer with him.
OK, naturally, I couldn't pass by without snapping a pic of this 1980 GS 1100, also in the vintage motorcycle area.
The show was OK. I think it runs through Sunday. I bought some anti-fog spray and I'm gonna try out a throttle lock thingamajig called Omni Cruise that I bought. I'm hoping it will help on my next ride from Seattle to L.A.
Mostly, I was in the market for a new riding jacket and there were hardly any being sold at the show. I also didn't see a Cycle Gear display, which they usually have. So I'm not sure what was going on this year, it just seemed smaller and not quite as good as past years.
