Should I Offer Carb O-ring Kits For Sale?

I'm about to place a carb O-ring order and was wondering how many people would be interested in buying if I started offering O-ring kits? I've got the required sizes captured for both VM and BS/CV carbs. I haven't priced everything yet, but guessing on $15/kit shipped in the CONTUS.

What say ye?

with cycle orings down, it would be a huge help for the community. i know im due for some carb boot rings soon

I'd take 1. (Canada).
Robert Bar did ship me with a "Here are you're O-rings samples" notice on the enveloppe maybe to avoid any custom fee?

Count me in, having a trusted source and one stop shopping is priceless.

It seems as business is already going pretty good. Probably a bigger benefit for the ones buying them than the one doing the selling. Hopefully good for everyone.

15 bucks ? Id take two even though I got one of Roberts last sets. Hows he doing ?

Question for those that have used Robert's CV kit: how did the float seat O-ring fit? Any tendency to pinch the O-ring when installing the seat? Reason for asking is because the O-ring size he used is a little larger around than the size I typically use, as referenced in the CV rebuild tutorial. Thing is, Robert's size is more readily available and would allow me to keep the kit price down. Considering how many kits he sold, I'm pretty sure there is no issue with the size he used, but just thought I'd ask.

I would buy a kit just to have a spare on hand. Count me in, maybe 2 sets.

Can't think of anyone better to do it

Ditto ! Did Chuck mention he might do it ? Both have the carb experience to know whats what.

The logistics of buying, packing, and shipping the kits would be the bulk of the work and the price of the kits should reflect that. My kit came from Robert with a pitneybowes label printed on it. $3.06. I don't know if he had a scale and printer or if he went to the post office. I don't know what he charged me but I would have gladly gave him 3-4Xs the 3 bucks. There must be some customer service in there as well answering emails and such. It all adds up !

A link to Eds tutorial is invaluable. Robert included a tip sheet that also had some need to read info.

I would buy 2 sets: one for each bike. Ihave a 81 gs850(stock) and a 81 Gs1100e (also stock). It would be a load off my mind to have all the o-rings ready to go if needed. Send me a PM .

IM NOT gonna start selling kits. HOWEVER, should Ed or anyone else decide to take up the MUCH NEEDED business I would be a regular customer. Last CV kits Robert had I bought and it was a little over 18.00 a kit shipped. I would probably buy 6 CV and 6 VM kits just to have them in stock for my shop. Heck i got 5 bikes right now that will need refreshed at some point so getting my hands on a good kits for sure a must for me. And of course the intake manifold orings are an absolute must have as well.

I'm also in for a few sets. My bike doesn't need another kit, but I seem to encounter GS850s more or less regularly.

And charge more. This is a cheap crowd, but another $5 or $10 ain't gonna kill anyone and could make the whole thing more sustainable and portable.

As to your question, yes, last time I installed a set, that did make things slightly more difficult when installing the float seat, but it worked out fine. They're also mighty tight if you need to take the seats out again. I'm wondering if it would be worth tossing in an extra set in case the user has trouble. If the o-rings are only a ha'penny each or whatever, then it would increase odds of success with little cost.

The choke plunger o-rings are also larger than needed, but as noted in the instructions this makes no difference.

I bought one of Robert's sets but have not used it yet. However, I now have 2 GS's with CV carbs, so if you do decide to offer this very useful service, and would be willing to ship internationally as well, I would also make use of your service.

New question: Robert details out the various large carb boot O-rings as such. Does anyone know which bikes take which size O-rings?
