If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I have an 82 750t that Id like to swith over to spokes. Ive looked over the list of axle diameters and noticed that the rear wheel for a 77-79 GS550 should fit since it is drum brake like my 750. The only difference I see is that the axle diameter for the 550's are 17mm (right) stepped and the the 750's are 20mm. What would be needed to make the GS550 wheel fit on my 750t?

The front wheel from the 550 should be a direct fit on my 750t by simply switching brake rotors. Thanks

I'm not familiar with the 750t but the difference in axle diameter is usually overcome by changing the wheel bearings.

Go to your local bearing house and see if the necessary bearing exists

Thanks for the replies. So its sounds like the hubs are the same size on both rims and I will just need to get the bearings to fit the size 20 axle.

Just a thought, do you rekon the 750 brake hub, with 20mm bearings, will fit in the 550 wheel? Wouldn't that be just dandy???

You could also change the swingarm for one off a different 750 model & convert to a rear disc setup I would think.... Pretty sure you'd only need to figure out a way of mounting the master cylinder (mounts might even be on the frame...). Pedal mount is probably the same although you'd prob need the MC & pedal setup complete from the disc bike.

Stock 750 swingarms should be cheap as there have been a few changing to an 1100 swinger (requires a shim for the pivot).

Or you could find a set of Gt750 hubs. They exact fit ups. Also a set of CBs will fit but you may end up with a 40 hole hub. Thats not such a bad thing since there are far more 40 hole rims out there for cheap than 36.

Ther seems to be a better selection of gs550 wire wheels than GT750 wheels. All the Gt750 wheels ive come across are severely rusted and missing several spokes.
