Glad you enjoyed the pics Gramma Peppermint. Still got a few other places to take him so one or two more to post up before he goes to stay with Londonboards. I`m a bit envious of him too, he sure has been to some interesting places since he set off on his world adventures !.

Took Stator for a ride out today, to meet Dennis (UKGSnut) and his wife Loraine. Again, Stator had to put up with travelling in a knapsack as Dawn bagged the pillion seat on the Bandit. Met them at the A68 Cafe at Toft Hill, nice place but changed a lot since I was last there a few years ago. Then it was plastic chairs and tables, bit more upmarket now and busy too !. Stator must be getting tired of the Bandit so was pleased when Dennis showed him a proper bike, his beautiful GS1000. I swear he was actually smiling !.

My poor photographic skills don`t do the bike justice, Stator was so taken with it Dennis had to ask him to hand it back over. So reluctantly, he got back in the knapsack for the ride back home. Hoped to get a few pics on the way back at a couple of spots, but the camera battery died. Good ride out though, good company too, so he enjoyed himself. The frown came back when he saw my somewhat tired looking 750 back home !.

Looks fantastic Tomo. Nice to see that fine Blue GS1000. Hey, I've been n that road!:D

It was a pleasure to meet tomo -Ian and Dawn. And a great honour to have have stator check my bike over ☺, happy day !

I remember you telling me you came down the A68 from Scotland Charlie. If you do so again on the way back, that cafe is really good !. Although having said that, we are only a few miles down the road and Dawn is a very good cook too !.

Took Stator across to see my Dad, as he wanted to look at his collection of aircraft bits and pieces. He thought the P-51 cockpit was a bit basic compared to the helicopter though.

He took a walk through the garden to Dad`s other hut, but did`nt reckon on meeting this, thought he must still be in Oz !

He made it past ok, so spent an hour or so checking out some bits of WW2 planes dragged up out of the North Sea in fishing nets.

Was especially impressed by a piston from a German plane.

Well Stator thinks he has spent long enough in the North East and is keen to head off to meet Londonboards. Before he left though, the local biker bear club decided to throw him a party.

Don`t think he was too impressed, not the most lively party and a distinct lack of female bears too, one on the left was`nt his type and already taken. But just when he was about to find an excuse to leave, that nurse showed up, unfortunately with her very large boyfriend.

As the night went on though, soon became clear that the big guy can`t handle the booze (mind, Theakstons Old Peculiar does pack a punch !)

With him out of the picture, our GSR hero was able to use all his charms to get the girl. Well, we all know he has a way with the ladies !.

Next week if all goes to plan, he sets off on the next leg of his round the world adventures and will be travelling down to stay with Londonboards, hope you are ready for him Richard, keep your beers locked away too as we all know he has gained a reputation !.

I like your model airplane collection. Got to watch out for Stator and the girls, many weeping ladies here on the west coast of the US.

Thanks gustovh, those are my Dad`s. He was a navigator in the RAF in WW2 and has always been fascinated by airplanes. He is 91 now and had to give a lot of stuff up when he moved to a smaller place, just kept his favourite bits and pieces. He has been following Stator`s exploits, which is why we took him over there.

While he's in the UK - and the Rugby World Cup is on - just remember he's a kiwi and should support the All Blacks...

If I'd realised he'd be there at the right time, I'd have sorted a jersey for him.

I do believe he has several nationality.

South African among others. ;)

Thanks chaps, he seems to have enjoyed his stay with us. Unfortunately, he has`nt had the chance to see any of the rugby, bit dangerous for him to be left on his own too long in front of the telly as Molly, our 6 month old cross Lab/German Shepherd has her bed in the living room and might not be too sociable toward him !. Don`t think she is an England supporter, just likes chewing things up. So far two mobile phones, tv controller and the stair carpet. So he has been living in his travelling box high up on top of a bedroom wardrobe, safely out of her way.

Stator arrived in Canterbury, Kent, UK yesterday (see: Canterbury) and immediately set to with some carburetor fettling:

We are off to see Tatu this afternoon and then on Sunday we are going to France for 4 days biking.

When we get back we have an appointment with the Queen.

I just love this thread. Thank you all for contributing... Does Stator need to be neutered? Lots of sleeping around???
