Stator got his riding gear back from the seamstress. And can't wait to try it on.

looks really good, any trouble getting him suited up again?

V

Hello.

Not so much.

The front of his suit is closed with small home made buckles and I had a hard time seeing something that small so close to my head.

But on the whole it went well.

The suit's leather seams are glued and on undressing him one sleeve split a bit. That was repaired.

I must specify that Stators hands are larger than his arms.

Aware of that his hands were squeezed smaller to fit and not stress the seams. No problemo.

His boots are held onto him with safety pins (Tank you Steve). I thought they would give me a hard time.
But no.

So again a bit of fiddling but no real problems.

EDIT

Stator wants me to add that the suit is a "Babe magnet" and that it is now twice as effective.

A very Stator Christmas

A very Stator Christmas

Hey all.

We are back from our Christmas travellings.

We went to see my mother for the 1st of the year. That is the biggest family gathering time for us.
(Christmas is with the out....I mean In-Laws the first is among us)

When we got there Stator went to check the tree and started examining the loots.
Poking, prodding and shaking the packages. Trying to guess the contents.
(The labels were in French but he is pretty good at it now)

ONAKL1n.jpg

There we took some glamour shots.

Stator played in an empty box.
(He was making engine noises)
(I think sometime he was on a motorcycle but not always. May have been locomotives, submarines, boats, first world war tanks and airplanes)
At one point I asked him "Where are you going?" and he replied "Travelling Airmail to Australia! First Class!".

I got chocolates but Stator got some new shiny pins.

I tell you, when Stator get is bandanna on he easily weighs twice as much.

I think when I had Stator, he only had a couple of pins. His collection has grown! Is he off to Australia?

Hello.

No. Not going anywhere. He was just playing.
(I did think that might start a rumour :o but put that there anyway for fun as it was a box from the US Post)

No member as requested his presence yet.

Daniel, I love how you get the French accent into print. Delightful! :D

I suspect there will be few riders in the northern Hemisphere who will be motorcycle-trekking for a couple of months. Perhaps Stator will be content to cuddle, and keep warm until then.

Of course, as he is a bear, he just might hibernate.

H_G, great photos and you have a very keen sense of humour. It's good to see the little fella getting around and showing the rest of us things and places that we would otherwise never get to see. I drove some of Route 66 between St Louis and Chicago a few years ago and it seemed like a good idea for a while, but after a while of seeing the highway only a hundred metres away with traffic getting along at 75mph that was long enough. Maybe the western end is more interesting.

Hi Ron.

I have an accent?

hqdefault.jpg

When he isn't sleeping he his drinking all my beer and hustling the women in the neighbourhood.

Yes, I expect there will be bikes waking up soon....Cold spell right now. My driveway is all iced up.
For some reason when fall got here I thought that he would be going south. Didn't expect him to be with me that long.

Thank you.

I am glad I rode all the way to California and the west coast (And that the bike behaved enough to get me home) but I wouldn't do it again.
Just too far between the good spots.

Hi Ron.

I have an accent?

....snip....

Mais oui, Monsieur.
No member as requested his presence yet.

I admit to chuckling aloud when I read that sentence. The missing "H" is fairly common with Francophones when speaking English....but you put it in print!
I do not know how may others may have recognized it, but that was a nice touch. Well done!

An aside:

In a few weeks I will learn more about the much-delayed trip to Montreal.
The company still does not have the equipment, but is expecting it by late-February.
Looking forward to seeing you again.:)

Hey Ron Stator here using HG's account.

I am on the forum nearly everyday. I am very tech savvy.

His "H"s are all over the place.

He puts them where there should be none and removes them willy-nilly. Not even consistent.

It's his Kryptonite.

He does have other problems but overall he is OK. His "Cr?pes" are good.

We are looking forward to seeing you here. With your friend.

I got to use the snow blower the other day. Not as much fun as I expected.

Got to go. Feeling sleepy.

When someone mentions yawning you want to do it. You are doing so right now.
That's what snow does to me. Feeling sleepy.

PS If you see spelling mistakes it is because he is helping me with my spelling.

Wrenching with Stator

Wrenching with Stator

Hey all.

Spring is around the corner so Stator and I have been spending some time in the garage.

Stator helped remove the dead starter, change the oil filter and clean the air filter.

eqGLn7x.jpg

The air filter cover didn't seal so well any more as the rubber was crumbling.
So Stator suggested using "That Cr.... camping mattress we were using out West".

Clever bear.

GwsnIJg.jpg

My brother is wintering is Dodge charger in my garage.

WeP3lLJ.jpg

He has his parts and came in to wrench as well.

I lost my assistant.

Go figure.

d29AIKw.jpg

Together they have re-installed the camshaft, timing chain, cover and water pump

HqKCtma.jpg

My brother told him to get is bandanna off first as jewellery can be dangerous with tools.
So he did and he wore latex gloves to protect his sensitive skin.

Stator said "Not a GS or even a bike but interesting all the same".

I know all stator's fans are anxious for an update.

So here is a Stator update.

The GK is alive in spite of it doing its very best to stay dead.

QAg5N0F.jpg

We did a flight test followed by an 80km ride.

Stator-
Nothing broke or exploded. And it was dirty from last year.

Stator-
Why are the skirts off?

Me-
We changed a few gaskets and I wanted to see any fresh leaks.
It is also easier to wash the engine without them.
They will go back on after our next ride.

Stator-
The seat almost look good and comfortable.
That pic shows the bike well enough. Now publish the one of me having a whole head.

Stator-
You missed a spot right there

Nice, looks like Stator has picked up a couple new buttons. He can be picky when it comes to cleaning up the machine.

V

So the other day Stator says to me "I'm bored".

So I say

Me-
There is one thing with an engine I own that you have never seen....

Stator-
Does it have wheels?

Me-
Yes, two.

Stator-
I'm in.

s7lOy8M.jpg

Stator-
What is this?

Me-
It's a rotor tiller.
For the garden.
It used to belong to my father. It's older than the GK.

Stator-
Nothing is older than your GK.

Me-
Every time that thing start is like an old man getting an erection.

Stator-
What?

Me-
It sweet and sad at the same time.
Sweet that it works and sad because it could be the last time.

Stator-
STOP! Every inch of dirt you turn over is full of yucky worms.

ADSS4F4.jpg

Me-
It's an organic garden.

Stator-
It's a "Wormy-Garden". This one is as big as my foot.

8ZffTTC.jpg

Me-
Or my pinky.

58IkP7p.jpg

Me-
Look that one is as long as MY foot.

KxPn8j4.jpg

Me-
Stator come back!
We're not done.

Stator-

First thing first.
I want to state that I am not afraid of worms.
It's just that I prefer them in a bottle from Mexico.

The other day Stator and I went to Ottawa on a day trip.

Stator-
When we're there will we see the Parliament?

Me-
We will ride by it, yes.

Stator-
I mean visit.

me-
No. It just to see family.

Stator-
I wanted to see the gargoyles and the Peace Tower.

Me-
I have been in there 4 times already.

Stator-
What about the War Museum?
I want to see Hitler's car.

Me-
Nope

Museum of Nature?
Science and Technology Museum?
National Gallery?
Museum of History?
The Diefenbunker?

Me-
No, no time.

What about the Museum of Civilization or Aviation and Space Museum?

Me-
Next time we will make time for the Aviation and Space Museum.
I can definitively go back there one more time.
But it's an all day affair that one.

On this trip we will stop at the Hog's Back.

Stator-
We'll see a pig?

Me-
No. It's a....Torrent, a fall, a rapid, a dam, a park. You'll see and like it. I think.
You can run around, chase squirrels, geese, ground hogs. Maybe you can scare tourists by being ferocious.

Me-

GET DOWN FROM THE HANDRAIL!......This side of the handrail this time.

So has he been invited to travel anywhere by anyone else recently?

I have to answer no to that.

I thought Steve would want him back to complete his family trip.
Or certainly another member.

But nothing.
Not a nibble. No PM, no email.

I am doing what I can to keep Stator interested, well stocked in beer and keeping this tread alive.

I will be doing a 3 day trip in 10 days or so....

I have had him for 9 months now.

Personally, I think he is fine where he's at. Until another member chimes in for his request he can stay in Montreal. Well untill he starts speaking French! Merci Beaucoup 😉

So, how does one become worthy of hosting this furry little biker bear? If it's having to replace the part from which his he is named, then I may be in the running. My battery died yesterday and after an afternoon of pushing and bump starting the 850, I made it home to test the stator's output. In short, looks like I have a few more parts to order!

I know Mr Bill had Stator for a while and he's seen a good portion of Southern NM, no doubt partaking in some of the finest green chile from nearby Hatch, NM. I would, however, like to invite him back to The Land Of Enchantment for a visit in Albuquerque. Should he accept, I'll send a PM to his current host with my address.

From the 10,600 foot high Sandia Peak to the Rio Grande valley, Stator is sure to find this an enjoyable place to ride. I'll show him volcanos and grand vistas, mesas and meadows and even share some fine Mexican brew with the little guy. Wait, is he 21 yet?

Anyway, pm being sent in hopes of an accepted invitation.
