    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi guys.

I've got an 1980 gs1000 with CV carbs. The current main jet has 115 stamped on it. The pipe and pod thread suggests moving 3 jet sizes for pods but I'm unsure what exactly that means. I notice the jets are available in 5 number increments. Am I right to assume 3 sizes up is a 130? Wanted to confirm before I go ordering anything. I don't particularly want to go to pods but the airbox is so shabby it's hardly worth continuing with and will need replacing sooner than later. Might as well get prepared.

Don't think so. 115--117.5--120--122.5--125--127.5--130--132.5 etc. Interesting to hear from others, I'd think more than 3 for a pipe & pods. Just my opinion
 
No one can tell you exactly where you'll need to be on jetting for pods. I just did my 850 two weekends ago and ended up 4 sizes up on mains, and 1 on pilot. I would get a selection from 2-4 sizes up on your mains and 1-2 sizes up on your pilots, plus get some #4 washers to shim your needles. Or just get a dynojet stage 3 kit.

Also, on pods: K&N, APE, or UNI foamies is pretty much the consensus here on what to use. I tried out 4into1's UNI clones and they're quite good and half the cost of UNIs. Have heard good things about Bikemaster pods as well, K&N clones but we'll made. Way better than most eBay crapola.
