If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Looking to make some changes. I have been searching but I have yet to find this information listed. Is these any listed comparison charts anywhere for swingarm widths at pivot, rear, and overall length?axle and pivot size?

GS1100E Pivot width? length? width at rear axle? axle and pivot sizes?
GS1150 Pivot width? length? width at rear axle? axle and pivot sizes?
Bandit options Pivot width? length? width at rear axle? axle and pivot sizes?
GSXR Pivot width? length? width at rear axle? axle and pivot sizes?

Or does anyone have a complete list of all the usable swingarm possibilities? I know people you say you can make anything work with enough skill, but I was looking for the most obvious choices first.

How much money is involved with having a shop extend the factory GS1100E swingarm?

Thanks for any information the group has.

The most straight forward is to stay with dual shocks and use a Bandit Arm and it can be a bolt on if you have the right parts to modify it. See Katman he does this.

Many people with the skill fit a GXR arm to do monoshock.

There is more involved that even you list so you need to research the builds that people did and see how they accomplished what they did. Sorry that is how you figure it out on your own.

Trac dynamics would not be the direction I was looking for. I understand there is plenty that I will have to find or learn on my own, However I also thought some people who have used certain swingarms might chime in with little bits of info that I haven't been able to find off of everyones build threads such as a bandit arm is blank inches longer than a stock 11 arm. A 1150 is blank inches etc.

Even with all the detail you have gone into on your rebuild threads Posplayer there are things that apparantly I have yet to locate or figure out.

Thanks for the additional link QUExpress. That was exactly some of the information I was looking for. If anyone has additions for older models to search out and compare it is much appreciated.

Bandit arm approx 21.75" from pivot to rear axle. Bending over the bike with a tape measure.

Ok, I just did a quick length measurement on the bike of a stock GS1100E swingarm. It looks like it's about 21-1/2" to the back adjuster marking. Since it's on the bike I was not able to be sure where the adjuster is maxed out for length but that gives you a rough idea.

Thanks guys, alot of the information on here is hidden within build threads. I find bits and pieces here and there. So it appears the bandit arm is around the same length as the GS1100 stock arm. If i am looking to get a 3-4" stretch i will end up having to go to a GSXR arm? Or at least it appears that way. I had an offer for a free CBR rear end, but i think I saw somewhere that it isn't even close enough to modify. I may have to see if I can get the freebie rear end and Ebay it to offord the parts I do need, or to have a shop modify the existing arm.

Gary

If you want a 3-4" longer swingarm I suspect you'll need to go aftermarket or have a stock one extended. From the list that quexpress linked to it looks like the 91-98 GSXR1100 is about 2" longer. You didn't mention it, but the 1250 Bandit (water cooled) is supposed to be 24-3/8" so that would be about 2-3/4" over.
