A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The 650G is getting there...

I had a look today at Bunnings and Clark Rubber. Not sure what your equivalent would be over there for these, but Bunnings is a big warehouse style hardware store, and Clark Rubber does lots of foam, rubber, and pool stuff.

Anyway, I couldn't see any tools in Bunnings, but Clark Rubber have suitable rubber for this at about $5.00 a metre, which is nice and cheap... :)

I've found an online hobby store that lists U gouges, V gouges, and other sorts of gouges, so they should be easy enough to find.

If you do this, make sure to let us know and show us what you do, that would be pretty cool I think. If I do go ahead with it, it'll be a while off as I have more important things to do first like get some spark happening.

That rubber pad would be really good, but for now it's paint. I can put the rubber over the top...
I like the thick black stripe where the white strip is, like on the tail piece, but it looks too thick around the white area on the tank. It's hard to curve the wide stuff that tightly too.

Actually the paint does look pretty good, and I do see what you mean about the stripe.

It definitely needs something to "separate" the white and red though... maybe just a thinner black?

Redid the stripes, thinner on the curved sections, it's better but I screwed up the line on the tank...
One more redo and then the clear maybe tomorrow!

Coming along nicely. :D
Is it just me or is something missing on the side covers?

Looks good Tom! Can't wait for the final clear coats. What kind of clear are you using?

Xtreme Original ClearKote.
It's a two part urethane, the guy at the paint store said it was easier to work with than some of them.
I hope it doesn't eat the vinyl stripes.

Now that's definitely more like it! Nice one :D

Those black stripes really make it, and I definitely like the painted knee pad area there too.

The clear went on OK.

Thanks guys, yeah I like how it turned out. Josh, I have three more GSes and two other bikes to paint before I get around to anyone else's, it's just not going to happen.

I like those turn signals too. Where did you get them?

A very well done paint job. Love the colors!

What are you going to do about the rims?
