DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi,

I have two bikes that need tires.

GS750 1977
Will a 130/90-18 fit? Presently there is a 120/90-18 installed...which has a tube (spoke wheels)
Can I purchase any type of rear tire and put a tube in it? What size tube? They where listed differently from the tire sizes on one site I was looking.

GS750E 1983
There's presently a 100/90-R16...what does the R stand for? I found a 100/90-16H...will this fit?

Any info is appreciated.

Cheers,

Dave

The R usually denotes a Radial and in rare case a speed rating, depends where the letter is placed in the sequence. In your case I would say Radial on this one, the H is a speed rating. H=130mph The 100/90-16H is a non radial or as the other denotes a radial. And yeah the 100/90-16H will fit though remember it isn't a radial.

On the 77 750 you are pushing the width with a 130 on the rear. On my 1980 GS750E I installed a 5.10 (old time measurement to the new 130/90-18H) The 5.10 screwed with my handling big time. I went back to pretty much the stock size tires, cured the problem. The 120/90-18 is fine. The tube of the same size is what I would look for.

Thanks for the info it's much appreciated...I'll stick with the stock 120 for the 77 and look for a radial (R16) for the 83.
