A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Today I picked up a 79 1000E tank, a painted fender, a set of used Renthals, and the bracket kit from Salty to do the front brake twin pot upgrade. Man am I excited! I had to post on here because the look on my wife's face said that she was not sharing the same elation as I was.
Not quite as exciting as the day I picked up the 850 & 750 and my old XL125, but still a good day!!!!

Thanks

It's like Christmas but better! Where did you snag the parts?

Congrats! Having a wife, I've seen that glazed look in her eyes.....

One of my neighbors puts it all in perspective in a practical way. My husband likes his toys and that is fine with me. At least I know where he is and what he is doing. It could be an awful lot worse.

Well, I bought the Renthals from a guy on here named Sebastian24, I bought the brackets directly from THE man himself, Salty_Monk.
As for the 80 1000E tank & the painted fender, I bought both from Rice Paddy Motor Cycles in Columbus, OH.
I am going to do an official plug on here once I get the parts & can see them with my own eyes. But so far, Grant from Rice Paddy has been excellent. The tank was priced at $325 & I wanted it, but that was a little much. I called to ask about shipping & as he was looking over the tank & talking with me, he noticed some pin holes in the bottom. So he came WAY down & included shipping.
I have a good friend that lives in Columbus & he had already told me that Rice Paddy were pretty straight shooters.

I'll do an update on here once I get everything & probably a review in the vendor section.
If all goes well, I will order from Grant again.

Thanks

I got my Renthals in the mail today!
I sorta wish my bike wasn't in pieces right now with all the upgrades... its 50? here... In February!!!!!
I'm excited to put these on the Litre!
