DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Any one know what year and model this tank goes to?

Not sure but looks like a Kat tank to me. the experts will let you know for sure.

Thanks, I'm really looking for a '84 or '85 GS700 tank but the guy offering this one isn't sure what it is and neither am I. The two pin side panel mount looks right but the cut out for the side panel looks too big.

It is not a 700 tank, maybe a late 80's Katana 750 pop-up or an 83 750 e/es..

I think your right about it being a 750 Kat tank, I've got an '83 750es tank already and this one isn't even close. My intent is to install the 700 body on my 750 (they have a better side panel setup), and then paint it with a Kat like scheme next year when I do a full frame off restoration. But to use the 700 side panels you have to use the 700 tank (which I'm still looking for).

were are you from i think there is 2 gs700 at joes used cycle in west port mass they are blue and white

Tom,
I'm in Allendale Michigan, so West Port Mass is a little bit beyond a Saturday drive. Do you know if they have a web site?

Rich

PS: Thanks for the heads up!

This is a 750 pop up I believe. I snaped this photo in Scotland in August of 2011. Owner is Jason 77.

I do believe that's right . It's a Katana tank. My 750E has a shorter cut out on the side than that.;)

Mad

The lines on it are definitive,i believe it is a 1984 GSX1100s,heres a pic.

Yup,i was wrong, the pic i looked at was too distant, looked like it had the 3 lines and the turndown at the tail thoo,Nice find,I live RSBFS,read all the time there.

Definitely a pop up Katana tank. Hampshire hog nailed it first!

Ask him if he has the mirrors from the bike that came from - I'll be needing some as I'm about decided to do a resto job on my 84 pop up Katana sometime in the next few years....
