    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

Why are CBs and KZs the popular ones.

We have a tendency to see things we have in common with others, I notice every Toyota Tundra on the road because I have one. So if you ride a GS you likely won't notice a CB as readily as another GS.

I ride a CBX and a GS so I notice other CBX and GS when they cross my path. Locally I know of 25-30 CBX and even more CB's but other GS's maybe 10-15 and those all belong to my vintage buddies. Suzuki's like my GS1150efe I've only seen two others. Honda has dominated sales for decades no other manufacturer even comes close in production there's a lot of them still out there tucked away in barns, garages and sheds.
 
25-30 CBX's in one area??? Dang I never see them & if I do they really catch my attention. My opinion they weren't the best at anything but looking good. Those red & black "79" models have got to be the best looking bike ever produced.
 
I witnessed a 79 CBX with 43 miles on the clock sell at auction in 2018 for $17,500. Fast forward to 2020 at a Mecum motorcycle auction in Las Vegas and that same bike with it's 43 miles on the clock sold for $26,000.

Only bad thing about something like that is the fact that you can't ride it or else it's value drops like a heavy rock. Plus all the rubber parts are 43 years old.
Just a museum piece and I don't buy museum pieces. What I buy, I ride.

YES. I hate garage queens. The CBx was made to be ridden. Let the museums collect them. That bike is still on my most wanted list.
 
25-30 CBXs locally owned? Wonder why Calgary/Alberta became such a hotbed?
I have been an owner for 20 years and don't think i have even seen that many.
They certainly are a fun bike to ride and the attention they get is part of that.

I've got a Wiseco 810cc kit and a spare cylinder just waiting for an excuse to install it in my 750. The bike runs so damn nice now though that I've been dragging my feet.

A guy on KZ Rider built a restomod 750 that's just a dream come true. He upgraded the suspension and brakes with late model fork/wheels/tires/swingarm/shocks as is customary with that sort of project. For the engine he went 810cc kit, 6 speed wide ratio transmission from a KZ550, along with modified clutch, and some aftermarket cams. Add in a Kerker and various other custom bits. A dream come true.
 
I had an 810 kit in my 750 Turbo, among way too many modifications to list. That is the only motorcycle I've ever ridden that had over 200 rwhp. It was a nightmare come true ;)
