I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Will it work on my 1983 GS1100E :?: :?:
It says off of a 1983 GS1100, could be a GK :? :?

good thing i didnt see it first Doug. if you are sure you just dont have a front wheel out of balance then go for it. My gs had a wheel balancing problem which i corrected and still would like a stabilizer.

Doug, I can see how it eaasily attaches to the front fork tube but where does that little eye at the back of the stabilizer go to. do you have to have something welded to the frame???

besure and ask him if the Heim type ball ends are tight and not rattling around in there houseing, and that the dampner and adjuster work, other wise its just bling bling junk :?:

You'll also need to check that it will fit your diameter of fork leg.

Mike.

A few comments on steering dampers. They are mandatory for the track, they are not necessary on the street. Those style dampers are for sport bikes. That one you are bidding on looks like a Shady. I highly doubt it cam stock on any GS, but I coud be wrong. They mount them 2 ways. #1 is parallel to the triple tree, between the fuel tank and the top clamp, but you need enough fork protruding above the top of the triple tree to be able to attach the clamp of the damper. Ducatis come with dampers stock, and thats how they mount them. I don't see this as an option on a stock GS, unless you have clip-on style bars. The second method is to attach the damper below the tripple tree down low, then attach the other end to the frame right below the fuel tank. You might be able to fab something to that extent. Keep in mind, as the damper body slides back and fourth on the shaft, the shaft will protrude and sometimes hit the frame components. Good luck either way,
Rich

Clamps can be gotten from Pingel. Mounted a gixxer 1K stabilizer on my 450 by welding a tab on the front of the head tube. Stabilizer runs parallel to the triples below the headlight.

Think I've got an old screen door with one of those on it. 8O

The thing ended while I was at work and for a buck more than my highest bid :? :?

Sorry Scotty, I got the luggage rack off a fellow GSR member :?

That look's like one I bought off ebay last month too. Mine has c-clip's on the ends so you can add oil or replace seals as needed. Should last longer than me and it's an 8 clicker too.
