Years ago I snapped mine off and lost it, I welded on an old pushrod from a truck engine. It looked ok as it had a small ball end similar to original. My bikes 79 GS1000 1085 checked and approved by stator the GSR mascot :eagerness: and 77 GS750 with 850 top end, GS850g, and my eldest sons 78 GS550, youngest sons GS125. 3 out of the 4 slides are stuck, but overall not very bad in the bowls.

Decided to put the case guards back on, after learning the hard way.
I had a low side crash and damaged the left side case in 2023.
Tried soldering a patch but it leaked, then I added another sealer to the inside and that worked, but the case was ugly.
So lucky to find a clean case on ebay this summer.

Whatever works. I Remember back in the 80's I installed a set of those guards on my GS1100E, slow speed drop ruined the guard but saved the cover. Found replacing the guard, had to buy the set, cost more than the cover it saved.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. I wish I had a seat like that, really tight.
