2025 Brown County GS Rally - June 19 - 22

Friday about 1130am.

Overlook Resterant on Ohio River, Leavenworth Ohio. IN62.
That is Kentucky on other side of river.

That line up of bikes, the licence plates would be Michigan (me), Illinois (Ben), Pennsylvania (Rich) , Indiania (Brett) and Ohio (Scott)

Sitting in resteraunt, good view of Ohio River.Then we notice what must be Norms K'saki 400RR in parking lot. How rude of us to not have noticed and go find him. Norm must already be in there somewhere.
A little Later he stopped by.

Later Brian and a couple others came in. (THey probably already had more miles before lunch, than what I was gonna get all day.)



We followed Scott, proceeded west on 62, including the detour on I64.
Brett headed out on own.
A little later Norms new 400RR went zzzzzzssssssssscreaming past us, wound up pretty good. I quess the break-in was complete, or maybe that WAS the break in.

Heading north 145(?) in some curves I felt bike breaking out sideways quite a bit, OH! some chip-seal patches that I didnt notice. Then I noticed another chip-seal patch but hit it anyway and bike squirmed around. Okay, I am tired, it has been hot, upper 80s, I am hot and tired, I am fatigued. Its after 2 in the afternoon. Let Scott know, am heading back. Okay, look at map, whats the direct route back to Bedford? 150east to 37 north. Ben and I head back. With a little rest stop in Paoli. Back to motel well before 4pm.
Dont recall mileage for the day, maybe a little over 150.

Mr. Beard and I stayed another night so we could get another day of riding since we didn't get there until Friday. We hadn't ridden together for many years since he moved out to Phoenix area. It was good to ride with my old partner in crime again. I made it home Monday about 11:30 am. Dave Beard made to his first hotel stop on his way back to Pboenix about 6:30 pm. We left the Rosemount at 7 am. Another good rally in the books. Nice to see some of the regulars again and meet some new folks. Thanks to Brian, Jay and Bonita. Wouldn't be the same without any of them.

Saturday.

I was thinking 450 to Williams bridge, then more of 450, then follow my front fender after that. Looking for scenic things all the way.
Rich thought that good idea. Bob had some info on a water fall out that way south of Shoals.

Bob led us on run down 450 and then some little road quite a ways. Was a fun route. And then we stopped here.

Bob says is a water fall here, Serinity falls.

yep, found a tall, maybe 30 feet, of water flowing down a steep shale formation, maybe 2 foot wide. Not a lot of water flow. ANd then did "fall" maybe 2 foot, and then flowed across shale. Bob said "this isnt what was in the brochure".



Most of the scene in shadows, but some other in full sun, and was downed trees acrost some of it.






On way back out on that narrow road, Rich stopped to rescue a turtle, but first the turtle had to pose for photos.

Bob headed back to motel, route 50, I think.

Rich and I wanted to run back on 450. So we did.

Stopped along the way for some scenes.

And I lead us back to this trestle I had seen earlier in the morning before getting to Williams Bridge.
Rich said he was laughing when he saw me stop there because he was dissapointed that we didnt stop there before and wanted to return.

Rode back into Bedford for lunch. Felt good to sit in AC after being out in 90+degF and some humidity. Sat there for a while and Brett Griffin saw our bikes and came in for lunch too.

Rich said he wanted to go back and run 450 again, hopefully not following a tanker truck (nor following me) this time. I said I wanted to go run Tunnelton Road. And we sat there chatting for a while longer.

Did get out Tunnelton road.




Chevelle, way up on stack of blocks, no axle, no drive shaft. Doors leant up agains wall. I didnt step in to explore further.

Here is where is a creek on both sides of the road, and I mean right beside the road pavement. THen the two creeks flow in channels that meet in center of road, under grating and go thru the tunnel.

(No, that is not the tunnel of Tunnelton. This is one of a multiple of tunnels in the area that go under the elevated RR tracks.
THe tunnel of Tunnelton is a train tunnel through a hill. I understand the tunnel of Tunnelton is a ways down a gravel road and then is a little hike. Maybe I should find that next year.)

I got a water bottle out of side bag, and squirted it down the back of my neck into/under jacket - oh, that about burnt me it was so hot.

And back to motel, again, about 4 pm.
Maybe a 150 miles for the day. Not a lot of miles, but was out in the heat long enough.
Tired. Hot. Shower was good.
Then was Jays Indian Feast, and hanging out in the parking lot.

Note:
Appears that most all of the pics so far are from three of us that rode together some.
So you should not think these pics so far represent all of the rally.

Maybe was upper 20s or maybe low 30s attendees at the rally (I dont really know).
Some went out on their own, but most went in group of 2 or 3 or 4. So were many different routes being ridden. Many different experiences.

In the evening some of us were talking about where we went and what we saw or did.

Others were talking about this decreasing radius turn, or taking turns at 1 1/2 or 2 times the posting for the curve, or passing a line of eight cars.
