• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

A guy, wearing a tie, riding a scooter, with a Florida license plate on it, at Sturgis...
Nooo, there's nothing weird about that!

Depep gets my vote...

Stator and I thought it perfectly normal.

Dorkbuger's snow scene gets my vote.

Well good morning and happy Saturday, GSR! Let's tally up!

With one vote each, Burque73 and Redman
With two votes each, trevor, 650skull, and dpep

And with three votes for the win, @dorkburger

Confirmation would be good.

Good morning all,
Count looks good.

About my picture. It's the sober me reminding myself of the absurdity the very unsober me in gallows humor fashion. Plus I love that neon sign.

I'll find a topic shortly

Glen, Glad you were sober but agree totally it was absurd to be there at that point in time. Hopefully you're making better decisions these days. Congrats on the win.

Better decisions? Different ones maybe. That picture is ony a few months old. I laughed my arse off the whole time at the sweet absurdity of riding a scooter in a blizzard. Big belly laughs. My photo outing that night started on foot, but I quickly turned around and got the scooter out. Sensible? Probably not, but it was an absolute joy.

I've noticed the changing landscape quite a lot when viewed thru older pictures, and many landmarks where I've photographed the GS have changed or are simply gone.

Change is the topic. Repurposed buildings or sites, things no longer in existence, etc.

This industrial site has been razed and like so many spots here, luxury condos are going up in their place.

This business is gone, but allowed me to test ride this 2012 Aprillia Tuono back then, with no time limit for return.
I've had the pleasure of trying 2 Aprillia's including the 2001 RSV Mille R way back when.

Not to be a stickler for the rules but it's supposed to be your bike or a bike you once owned, i believe

No longer in existence.

Flax mill in Marlborough NZ.

Heritage listed building. Last of the Flax mills where they made rope from flax leaves.

But in 1888, closed in 1964.

Not a nice or comfortable business to work in.

Not repurposed but fits the criteria of no longer in existence.
