DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm working on a friends GS but I'm enjoying having a look around your site. Any Harley guys here? I have an old Shovelhead & a Hertage Softail.

Harley is junk. Ask most anyone here..
Forum's full of Harley haters, beware!

Ok, I'll step softly LOL

Why would people hate on Harley's? Just go outside and count the bikes that roll by, 8 out of 10 is probably going to be a Harley! Oh well, I do like this site, it is very lively compared to a couple others I belong to.

The shovel FXR bikes are pretty cool; updated running gear, for the time, and that old shovel head motor.

I've been thinking a 2009 Or later Road King with a 120R crate motor.

Yeah, there are a lot of world class *******s that occasionally actually ride their Harleys, but doing or not doing something like owning a Harley based on the ******* ratio is not a good basis for any of life's possibilities.

harley? you mean those really slow, loud bikes that i always pass with my 35 year old jap bike?

i've seen 'em.

:D

Good stuff guys, good stuff! No doubt your old bikes would put either of mine in the weeds! Now a V-rod might even the playing field some :)

Love the banter on here, I can tell you guys are real enthusiasts. I ride with a bunch of old fuddy duddies who don't even change their own oil

Says the guy with an '04 Fatboy in his signature. :-\\\

.

Uh, classic. Mr. Sarcasm himself can't recognize sarcasm?
I love my Harley. If I didn't I could sell it and buy 10 GS's.
But I have to have at least one dependable bike in my garage.

Not trying to be a dick here, Jake, but I noticed your 1/4 time with your Harley is about what a stock GS/KZ/XJ/CB 900/1000 got back in the late seventies. It is an impressive time for a H-D that's still street legal, but how much money did it cost to get there?

I'm not saying that H-D bikes don't do what a bike needs to do for a lot of riders (obviously, or they wouldn't sell so many), but what's the point of hot rodding one in order to make it about as quick as a 35 year old UJM?

My girl had a meeting up in Napa today, so I drove her up there and took the dog on an adventure. Leaving her meeting, I stopped in a Harley dealership so the dog could ... stretch her legs.

I was looking around under a tent full of seemingly identical bikes, and some 'roided-out dude came over to me with a Harley "work shirt" and pants (both immaculate).

"Do you have any questions about the bikes?"

"No, my girl just has a meeting in town and I'm killing time."

"Well, that's usually how it starts."

"No, I've been riding for years."

"I mean, that's how you start riding Harley Davidsons."

Right then, I noticed my dog had found a good "spot."

"Thanks, I ride old Japanese bikes," and off I went.

Not a problem Griff, Yeap Harley's are slow but I like riding mine with forward controls, it's a different feeling plus I like to tinker on them too. The good thing is I can go banging through all 5 gears and not get thrown in jail compared to a GS, Busa or ZX14

Mid 13's would be the norm for todays stock Sportster's, ported heads, exhaust and cams can get you mid 11's if your not a heavy guy like me for less than 2 grand.

That's why I take both to the track at the same time, I can always say I have one of the fastest and one of the slowest bikes there. A little weird......... right ??

I got a 90" piston/jug kit that will go on one of these days, shooting for 100 hp and 100 ft-lbs of torque. I'd like to have a Big Twin Killer that does 100 mph in the 1/8.
