    DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

My son-law and myself took ourselves to Kirby Lonsdale Cumbria there is a bridge over the river Lune bikers know this as Devilsbridge
its a very popular meet for us bikers nice scenery there's a butty van for tea/coffee food, on Sundays the local council have made a rule that bikes only can park on the car park, cars are banned.
A while ago there used to be a lot of youngsters jump off the bridge into the water but due to the rocks sloping under the water it makes it dangerous and there was a couple of deaths and many injurys so they have passed a by-law banning jumping it seems to have worked.

Ride out early this morning. I was hoping to get some sunrise pics, but it was overcast with jungle like humidity.
I also modified my freebie backpack type camera bag so I can clip it onto the back seat to save me from swapping bags when going for a ride.

My daughter (16) was my passenger today -- first time for her this year, I think. We rode about forty miles of local hilly twisties. Saw a bit of a rainbow and some lovely clouds, no precip.

Fastbysuzuki:
The big guy up there rides a Suzuki (this I know)

1981 gs850gx

Jesus would ride a 1981 Suzuki GS1000GL.
"GS" = "God's Son"
"GL" = "God's Love"
1000 = 10 x 10 x 10 -- a trinity of a perfect number.
1981 in Suzuki's code = X = the first letter of the word "Christ" in Greek.

I took my recently acquired 1000G for its first real run today after reviving it from a 25-year long slumber. She ran well and definitely has much quicker acceleration and throttle response than my 850G. The extra displacement and the fact that the cams from the 1000S model have been fitted, both made themselves felt.

Still busy with refurbishing the Krauser hard luggage and topbox, so she still looks a bit "naked" at the moment!

Sorry for posting so late but these pics are of my visit to see my son in Honolulu. He was kind enough to let me use his Triumph Bonneville while there.

A small group of us did a moonlight ride up to Cloudcroft for some amazing pizza, a brew and a live band. The ride home was great with the moon oh so bright. pic1.jpg

Crest Route Wrightwood.jpg

Nice little route I put together on Tuesday as part of some store surveys I had to do... The top 70 or so miles were empty, saw about half a dozen cars over the hour or so that I was riding it and just a couple of bikes. Had to overtake 3 cars, all of which pulled over for me. Best ride in a long time for traffic. :)
Hard to believe this close to the city. All about timing (& dealing with the heat).

Was out riding in the 95 degree heat yesterday, knew I had a milestone coming up. Camera wouldn't focus on the mileage on the side of the road, so I had to wait till I got home to get some documentation.

Now that she's finally broken in I'll be able to put the whip to her a little more.

Time to go for a ride, rinse and repeat.

250K is pretty epic! FZ1 is a damn good choice to put miles like that on!

Go for ride...? Me...?

No.

But did drive into Grand Rapids to the the big multi-brand dealer there (looking at jackets and helmets) for an openhouse event.

Found my son (Redmanson, some of you have meet) and my son-in-law (recently moved back from SanDiego) there.

Justin Redmanson, on left, demonstrating his communication system, calling wife to say is on the way.

Yes, that is my Harley-Riding-Son-In-Law there on the right. (well, that is what I used to call him) (but that is another entire story).

Glad to see they're considering something else to ride beside the same old V twin.....

Son-In-Law sold his loud (obnoxious) HD (ape hangers, solo seat) in Calif, before the move back, After having a baby and neighbors also had a loud HD.

He Bought the FJR here (before getting house or car actually).
Says maybe it had to do with having the BMW RT in his garage for 5 years.
Says he is now glad to have a bike he actaully wants to ride more than 15 minutes, more than once a month.
Says is nice to have foot pegs under him, so can put weight on them for control and for adjusting his position.
Says now needs ear plugs since can hear the wind noise (instead of just exhaust noise).
