A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Dolly Parton is gone...

An American Icon. She will be missed by so many.
Sadly, she was not on-site at Dollywood last summer when we visited Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, Bob & Amy Baatfam. But if you go to Dollywood or Dolly's Stampede, you can sort of feel her presence there.

It's a loss for sure, I've heard nothing but good about her for decades. The people I met who worked for her in Branson had nothing but praise for her.

Hard to imagine. Just a wk. or so ago she was on TV apologizing for either rescheduling or canceling a show in Los Vegas, looked good then as usual... Been around over 60 yrs. and right now I'm not remembering any scams nor negatives which is pretty rare.

The local news here in East TN has been all Dolly for at least the past hour.
No weather, no other news....

Just because you mentioned that I timed the C.B.C. news story that runs with the headlines every hour ..... Eight minutes ..... That's a massive amount of time to devote to a celebrity obituary report .....

I know Uncle Ted may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I thought this was pretty cool. Poor video quality. Sorry.

Plus, she had a great set of BOOBS!
As a young teen. That's what got my attention!
RIP Dolly...

I'm sorry she's gone. I enjoyed her music and she had humor and character few could match.

Some of us get blessed with great memories. This man surely did.

Going back a few years there was a man I knew who was affectionately called "Harry The Hat". Harry worked for American Airlines as a ramp-runner at Toronto Airport.

At that time the Skyline Hotel to the east of the airport had a beer room that airport employees, as well as the general public, kept well- attended.
The hotel provided an endless flow of beer and also had entertainment.

One night the beer room was full and as Harry sat alone at his table a man and a woman came in and could not find a seat.
Harry was a gentleman, and when seeing the plight of the couple he invited them to his table.
It was quite an evening.

Harry cherished that moment for the rest of his life.

The couple? Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.

I've heard nothing but good about her.For a person that was known for pretty much getting made up and wearing a costume she seemed more real and grounded than her peers.

I always liked her, never got the air of phoniness from her that so often comes from others in her field.
